I have had my sharkfin on my 2011 explorer for almost 2 years now and it is still stuck solid as a rock. Non-brushless car washes have no affect on it. The brushes glide right over it......

acdii any updates? Hows the MPG?, CEL?, plugs? double check your LL requirements, usually its based on the mileage from the first date of the reported problem. Hear anything back on your inquiry with a lawyer? I currently have a LL case going on right now against Ford regarding a 2011 Explorer. California LL is pretty consumer friendly. I hope to have mine wrapped up within the next few months. If you can go the LL route, its certainly the best way to go for your pocket book rather than losing a crap load on trade value.....

It looks great, and best yet is completely functional. I have not lost any functionality, reception, or anything else with AM/FM, Sirius or NAV......And Like I said, you give them your paint code, and it arrives painted and ready to install....... Check this thread out on another forum for pictures and details. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=312983

Knowing what you know now, would you still buy?
cnsheets replied to fusionTX's topic in Lounge - Off Topic Discussion
Nice, I used to be in a similar place years ago, but with RC Helicopters primarily. Its been a few years. Just been too busy with work and family......sure do miss it though...... -
This is a great option. It has a built in antenna so no issues with reception. I have this for my 2011 Explorer which uses the same exact antenna setup as the 13 Fusion... They paint to match too. http://www.visualgarage.com/

Does the USB port charge an iPhone?
cnsheets replied to Former Expedition owner's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Only while the vehicle is in accessory mode or running. It will not charge though USB if the vehicle is off. You can however plug in a 12V sub adapter into the 12V port and charge with the vehicle off as the 12V port is always typically hot in fords.. -
Test drove the new Altima yesterday.....

I've heard a hybrid Altima was in the works, you might get the best of both worlds soon enough....... -
No surprise there......sounds like what I hear with my explorer..... did they atleast replace the plugs or just wipe them off and put them back?

What BS did they feed you as to what the problem was? Still blaming it on the gas?

Sounds like your ICE is really thirsty. I think if they fix that problem, your MPG problem might see a fix as well. Keep us posted. And good luck. I currently have a 2011 Explorer, First model year of redesign, and its been a nightmare......really been looking a lot at the 13 FFH, been lurking here for a while, but again, first model year redesign has me scared. Don't want to go down same path again. Some of these problems and poor MPG are making me rethink what I should be looking at. I have even caught myself looking at the 2014 Accord Hybrid, supposed to put out good numbers for MPG, but then again, you can;t beat the looks of the Fusion. And of course they will blame the gas....thats their lazy way out of looking for and fixing the real problem.

GrayStrider..... Where in So Cal are you? There should be NO charge for the update regardless of the dealership you take it to or where you bought the car from. They are full of BS.....Any A4 cards they order or any update labor for the upgrade are reimbursed to them by Ford.....Don't let them bend you over...... I do not see Ford CS reps on this forum, but on the other forum I frequent, there are several Ford CS reps and a rep from the IVT team...if a customer were to post that a dealership was trying to charge them for the upgrade, the CS rep or IVT rep would contact the dealer direct and straighten their ass up.......

Have you tried going to other various local dealerships and test drive other 13 FFH's on the lot? Compare their driving characteristics and MPG to yours? While I think there is some truth to Ford overstating the MPG, I also think based on your posts that there is something not quite right with yours. If you test drive other FFH's and can achieve better MPG without trying or don't feel any resistance when coasting, then I would definitely say yours has a problem that they need to either fix, or work with you to get into another one. One that you have fully test drove first...... What state do you live in? Have you checked into your states lemon laws?

'13 Fusion- My sync still have issues????
cnsheets replied to coach81's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
If you dont have the latest 3.5.1 software and you do have Nav, just take it into your dealer and tell them you are having problems with myford touch and the Nav and tell them to update to the newest version and supply a new A4 Nav card. There is a TSB out for it, Dealer will do it if you take it in, or you can elect to wait until they make the update available via syncmyride website and send you a new A4 card. Here is the TSB......dealer can not refuse to update the software or give you a new A4 card..... Print this, take it with you, tell them to do it.... https://dl.dropbox.c...tsb12-11-01.pdf -
2013 My Ford Touch and ebay Navigation cards
cnsheets replied to jpeter1093's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
If it did not come from the factory with NAV, simply purchasing a NAV card will NOT give you Nav. Nav has to be activated at the factory. This is confirmed by Ford. Only option to add Nav if it did not come from the factory with it, is to add an aftermarket system that uses the stock touch screen.
