  1. The airbag lights (2) have been on intermittently for the last month or so in my '13 fusion hybrid. Was planning on calling the dealer and got my recall letter yesterday. Called the dealer & he has the part ordered & it will be repaired next Wednesday. Seems Ford could have sent out the letters a little sooner. I know they are short on parts but letting owners know about this as early as possible would be the responsible thing to do.

    MPG Happy Talk

16,700 total miles with a lifetime average of 34.8 mpg! It has been averaging 37-38 this late winter early spring:)
  3. -1964 Ford Galaxy 500- 1st car -1958 gmc 1 ton pickup -1976 Chevy Cosworth Vega -1979 Mazda RX-7 -1980 Toyota Tercel -1981 Mazda RX-7 -1982-2000 too many to list -1999 Audi A6 2.7 TT -2002 Honda Accord -2002 Ford F250 7.3 -2006 Honda Civic Hybrid -2010 Ford Fusion SEL -2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid We love our FFH but ours is only averaging 34.6 mpg lifetime. Around 39 since the chip update.
  4. Holy crap!! I better start leaving my tank at least half full. I guess it's better to plan for those disasters than leave my beautiful FFH at the gas station:)
  5. My wife has a 2.5 mile commute to work so round trip is around 5 miles. She has been plugging in the car most of the time at home this winter. She averages about 24 mpg on her daily commutes. I don't think the engine heater is helping much since the engine still is not getting warm enough in 2.5 miles to operate even close to efficently. Our lifetime mileage is 31.8 with almost 4,000 miles driven. Short trips in cold weather will kill mileage in any car. She got around the same MPG's on her work route in her previous 2010 Fusion (non hybrid) 2.4 liter. We also are getting about 34-36 MPG's on interstate (70-75mph) which is very close to what we were getting in her old car.
  6. My build date was 11/5/12 and my lifetime average is 31.8 with 3,700 miles on the clock. VIN 3FA6P0LU0DR169869.
  7. My lifetime MPG is 31 in my '13 Fusion Hybrid with 2800 miles on it. My wife & I drove a Honda Civic Hybrid for 4 years & know how to get good mileage. I do have Conti Extreme Winter tires on it and my wife only works 2.5 miles from our home so I know she is getting terrible MPG on that round trip but......... except in city driving doing 25 to 50 mph I can't get better than 36-38 MPG out of it. Have taken 6 or 7, 300 mile round trips and can go two different ways.. One way is Interstate (70MPH), one way is highway/city (60MPH on the highway and around 10 towns with 25-45MPH). Driving very conservatively for MPG we average around 33 on the interstate route and around 36 on the highway route. No matter what I do or how gentle I am with the gas peddle it won't vary those results more than 1-2 MPG's. In town with 25-50 MPH routes I can get over 40 MPG if I really try but once I stop turtle driving it goes back to 35-37 MPG's. I was one of those that told people to break it in, it's winter blend fuel, it's cold outside, you have to learn how to drive it etc. but now I do think this car has a problem. I'm sure Ford know that too!
  8. My dealer tried turning the DRL's on in my new car too. They have done this with other Fusions & other models but they said they couldn't do it on the new Fusions. The tech spent alot of time with the car, online and with Ford tech people and said that he's pretty sure it can't just be activated in this car. Anyone with any more info?
  9. Picked up my car yesterday. It's beautiful and drives great. I did not test drive a Fusion so this was my 1st time in one. The black leather seats are very comfy, much more so than my '10 Fusion SEL seats. Finally after 6 months of waiting & obsessing it's here, it really is here! Heres a few quick pics.
  10. I have heard that the dealers can activate the DRL's in all fusions. The canadian cars have this activated at the factory but all cars have the daytime running lights, the dealer just needs to update a chip? I guess it only takes < 15 minutes if they know what they are doing. I am going to have my dealer do this before I take delivery.
  11. My wife's white platinum '10 Fusion SEL is called Franny! No name for the Ingot '13 FFH yet. I guess it's kind of like a dog, you need to see it in person to get the right name for it.
  12. I feel for you Coach. I ordered mine 5 months before yours & I still don't have it yet!
  13. Reset your Average MPG. They are dynoed at full throttle at the factory. I'm sure they are not driven real easy when they are parked/loaded/unloaded. If it hasn't been reset that would be the problem.
  14. There are alot of cars that were built in October (after the shutdown for the body panel die retooling) that are still in Mexico or Flat Rock. I believe it depends on what options your car would have. Evidently, my car didn't have any of the options that the "other issues" pertain to. It's pretty hit & miss and what the other issues are.
  15. My build date was 11/5, it shipped the next day without an ETA. Today I found out it is in Chicago (240 miles from my dealer) and it now has an ETA of 11/21. If it makes it by the 21st it's 16 days from manufacture date to delivery. There are alot of people who have had their cars built for over a month and they are still at the plant or at Flat Rock.
