2011 Fusion, 3.0L engine. The car has had a engine whine when cold (it's been in 30's here in St. Louis) for the entire time I've owned it, I now have 1200 miles on it. When it warms up after 15-20min it'll go away. Only noticable city driving when in lower gears and it's shifting a lot. It's for sure the engine and not the tranny. I can sit in neutral/park and rev the engine around 1500 rpm, or I can hear it at idle around 750 rpm. It's loud enough to be extreemly annoying for me since it's a new car I'd expect better. My guess is something along the belt, tensioner, etc. I mentioned it to my dealership and got the "oh well sure, all cars make noises before they are warmed up". I plan on keeping at this. Anyone have similar? Ryan
