  1. For now, we went with 'FRed'. Simple and kind of appealing. GB
  2. I haven't either. Had one like that in my Lincoln LS, and I really miss it. My Sport at least has the compass in the Sync display, but no outside temp display. GB
  3. So, How did we all do today? Here in NW NJ, we got about 1" of ice on top of 3" (or so ) of snow. Roads were a mess, lots of ice & slush and everything in between. Our '11 Sport FWD plowed through it all. A few dicey moments, but overall, very good performance. So much better than the '08 Mustang or the '08 Fusion we had. The Mustang was a joke in this kind of weather, I had to load the wife in back seat for traction :hysterical2: , she was not amused. So, how did everyone else in the Ice Belt do today? GB
  4. Since we always seem to pick up our new cars in Jan - Feb. We named our 2008 Black / Black SE "Black Ice" It replaced a Black / Black Lincoln LS that was named "ICE" Our Candy Red Sport Fusion is proving to be difficult to name. So far, names suggested are: Red Ice Candy Ice Cleo (don't ask!) Candy (Wife dis-approved immediately) Apple Ice (no-no-no) Fred (Ford-Red) - Never had a Male named car. Sporty (too cutesy) There have been others suggested, but, most in jest. Can't wait to hear what you all have named yours. GB
  5. My 2011 Sport acts as described above. Open any door, day or night and the parking lights & tall lamps come on - no headlamps. Lock or unlock the car, key fob or lock button, no headlamps, parking and tails only. My 2008 fusion would flash the headlights. I agree, different than described in the owners book. GB
  6. I don't know, I always park WAY, WAY far away from any other cars, no dings and a little exercise  GB
  7. Yeah, That's kind of the way I'm leaning now too. Kinda a PITA overall, but I see no other option. Would love to see pictures, BTW. I'm surprised that so few people here don't find this an issue. I know NJ is not the only state that requires 2 plates, and I know a lot of us like license plate frames. Maybe there just aren't a lot of 2011 license plate frame fanatics here? ;) I don't know when Ford changed the bracket design, I know my '08 was drilled for 4 bolts. Anyone else wish to chime in? GB
  8. Yeah, the dealer one on the back was removed ASAP. Replaced with a nice solid chromed brass one. It's the :censored: one on the front that is driving me nuts!! Maybe once it warms up, I'll look at drilling and tapping something. GB
  9. Well, just checked my 2011 sport, and I got to say, they are flawless. Tight seams all around. Not sure what the born date was, but just picked it up from the dealer on Thursday. Really very happy with the fit and finish on this one. Much better than the 2008 SE I had. GB
  10. Yeah, I'm looking at that too. Just seems dumb to not allow us to put frames on. The bracket on my 08 fusion had all four holes, no problem. Must PO the dealers since they can't stick their crummy frames on the front and back of new vehicles. Would love to just remove it, but NJ requires a front plate. Grrrr, must find a solution. GB
  11. Maybe a weird question. Just picked up our new 2011 Sport. When I tried to install the front license plate and a nice license plate frame, I noticed the factory license plate holder now only has screw holes at the bottom of the holder and clips to slid the plate under at the top. :headscratch: I see no way to use a license plate frame on the front standard mount. I HATE the look of 'bald' license plates. Any ideas? Thanks
