I hope whoever put the pop up ads in the lower right corner is happy.  I installed ad block on my computer to get rid of them and now there are no ads anywhere and the site operates much faster.  As far as I am concerned the ads in the lower right corner crossed the line.  I had no problem with the ad bar at the top of the page because it didn't get in my way.  So you annoyed me to the point that I took action and got rid of everything.

My sentiments exactly. I was willing to put up with the other ads because I know these sites cost $ to run, but that constant popup crossed the line. Now no ads.

I just installed Adblock on my iPad. The pop up ads are gone. Having to use a seperate browser just for this site is a pain.

I hate it that Adblock has become a necessity but irresponsible ad cramming by many sites has made it necessary.

Why would you need a different browser just for this site ?

I think there is a version of Adblock for every major browser and it works seamlessly with all of the sites I visit......both in IE and Chrome.

Maybe you missed it when you quoted my post but, I'm referencing my iPad. I'm using safari and puffin on my iPad and iPhone. You cannot run ie or chrome on either. The Adblock for for iPad and iPhone is a separate browser.

And just as a reference, I have your posts blocked so I do not see them because of our previous interaction. I mistakenly click on the view a block post link.

Now I'm getting Malware warnings from my trend micro protection suit.  Looks like I'll be finished with this site from this computer.  Good luck and thanks for all your help guys.  I love that it pops up and blocks the post button as I type this, man what garbage, as if this site isn't slow enough.  C'mon Mods.

The mods don't have any control over how the site is run. For that you need to contact the account labeled "staff".

I just recently installed AdBlock Plus on my Windows computer with IE and it has been hit & miss so far with blocking ads. Like others I didn't mind the ads before because I know that the site owners need to finance site operations somehow, but the pop-up ads have gone too far. They're especially problematic on the iPad where they block the text of the posts. Hopefully Robert will give us an answer soon about that issue.

And you will probably miss this too but the  point IS....................

Why do you not use the AdBlocker browser for ALL of your net surfing ????

Keep telling me that you have my posts on ignore.......and I will keep telling you that I don't care.

Well it looks like these pop up ads are here to stay so this is farewell. Some good information here but these ads are so intrusive and annoying, that I no longer enjoy the experience.

Thanks to all for the knowledge that has been shared.

We have been told that this Forum will be moving to a new, faster Server at the end of the month.

These Ad's should diminish at that time.

That is all we presently know.

I haven't read all the posts here, but I do know that a quick, easy, and free installation of Adblock Plus eliminated all ads from this site.

I'm sorry, what did you say? I can't read your post because of this huge stupid ad covering your entire post on my iPad!

Okay, now I can see it. Check back in from time to time to see what is up. If enough of us complain about these obnoxious pop ups, perhaps the forum owner will get the message! It is just as bad on the MKZ forums, so this forum is not the only one effected. Omg. I can't even see what I am typing because of this stupid pops up!

I'm the owner of a site like this. The owner has the option to keep the ads off. I don't blame Robert though as the ads help pay for the site(s). I don't allow them.

When the obnoxious ones like on this site and the MKZ site start running off users, they defeat their purpose. :)

https://adblockplus.org/ eliminated the pop-ups on IE for me.  I just did it for Chrome in less than a minute.  With it being so easy, there is no reason for anyone to leave the forum.

One "problem" is that it eliminates all ads.  I can see why the owners of forums don't promote it.  It can put them out of business.  I also don't mind the ads on the top, so this forum needs to eliminate the pop-ups before everyone gets adblock.

The main problem is on the iPad. Show me how to block the darn things on the iPad and I will be a happier camper! :)

The best way to block Ads on my iPad is to use the 'Atomic Web Browser'.

Atomic Web Browser for the iPad has Ad Blocking that works, find it in the App Store.

The browser is full featured, fast and has options for using a Search Engine like DuckDuckGo that does not track you, like Google.

Install the Atomic Web Browser>Settings>Ad block>On and all these video web ad's are gone - on my iPad.

Click on the Gear icon on the browser heading to find Settings.

Try it.

I use AdBlock Plus on my desktop with Firefox and do not see the ads. I recently bought a Surface Pro with IE 11 and tried it with this site and the constant pop up ads were quite an annoyance. Will have to find an ad blocker for that system.
