My Dealer and Ford TV commercials

I was at my Dealer near LAX today, what a mistake. It was 'film rolling', 'please don't stand there', 'hey, hey, where are you going?', ' no, you can't park there', etc.

 

There was a very large film crew, actors, trucks and for all practical purposes the bathrooms were off limits to us surly customers.

There were three TV commercials being shot, one in the Service Bay entrance and two on the Sales Floor.

The Sales Floor had Christmas decorations all over so I will guess the commercial is set for the holidays.

 

My SA just took my info, gave me a rental car and said he'd call me. He was only allowed at his work console a few minutes at a time so I took the rental and left.

Not a good CS day at SBF....

Didn't see him and I didn't recognize the actors I did see.

If fact I didn't even get a free lunch, the place was packed. :cry:

 

This repair was for my Flex, I am using the CPO 12 month BtB Warranty to get a few things fixed.

I ended up with a 2013 Focus SE Hatchback with a 2.0L Duratec DI TI-VCT, the 6-speed trans and 25k miles.
It shuttered and jerked on take-off like the last rental Focus did, plus it was a very noisy car in the cabin while on the road.

I did get 35 mpg's on the way home though.

 

When we were pulling in the driveway I asked my wife how she liked the Focus, the answer was "I wouldn't want to take this on a long trip".

We're spoiled with the FFH and Flex.

From what you saw was this a Ford Corp commercial or just South Bay Ford doing their own commercial for the LA market?

 

Btw, the Focus Electric is much nicer than the gas Focus in all those areas. Everyone who rides with us is shocked at how quiet it is. It's even quieter than the FFH!

We have a neighbor that is too lazy to take his Christmas decorations down. 24/7, 365 days/year, there are those stupid swaggy, icicley looking lights all over his house. :)

We have a city ordinance that requires home owners to take down Christmas decoration I believe by the end of January. Some people still don't care.

 

There should be a law however to stop retailers from putting up Christmas stuff for sale by the end of July.

There was a big red bow on one of the cars, which was unusual.

Did they have a 2105 car there? I don't know, I couldn't get that close to the set.

Agreed, Christmas stuff should start AFTER Turkey day. It was always the traditional start of Christmas season, day after Turkey day was when the store displays were opened, now it starts in September, which is just disgusting, by the time the actual holiday comes around, I am sick of it and can't wait for it to end. Greed is what it has become, no longer the celebration of the birth of Christ, but just a 4 month long selling spree.

Same story with my 2012 Focus. It was on its third set of clutches and needed them to be replaced again. It had 41,000 miles when I walked away from it after trading it in. I have owned only one other car that was a more miserable ownership experience than this car. The transmission is deeply flawed.
