Titanium Hybrid Trunk Liner

Recommended Posts

I just picked up a new 2014 titanium hybrid. I installed front and rear moulded splash guards, wheel locks and the clear plastic strip that goes on top of the rear bumper. They are all Ford accessories. I am currently looking for a trunk liner, but I cannot find one for the hybrid. For now, I was going to buy a black rubber carpet liner, cheap from the Home Depot, and trimming it to fit the trunk contours until a proper trunk liner is available.

Does anyone know if there is a proper trunk liner available for the hybrid?

Also, I don't like the capless fuel tank filler system that many Fords seem to be using now. Seems to me that dirt and dust can get inside and wash its way into the fuel tank. Anyone have any solutions for this?

Thanks,

There is one that comes with the premium floor mat set, see below. You could probably order that separately if you wanted to track it down through Fordparts.com etc, but personally it's a lot of money and the material is a bit thin.

No one has a trunk liner yet other than what Jeff posted. I wouldnt worry about the capless filler, Ford has been using them since before 2010 and other than a few sticky ones, there havent been issues or we would have all heard about them by now. My mom has a 2009 MKS with that and after 5 years, not a single problem. The cover does a good job of keeping it clean.

I found that there is a locking gas filler cap for the capless filler system, but this cap does not fit the 2013 or 2014 Fusions. Those model year Fusions have a second additional flap in the filler neck that looks like it gives added ;protection from dirt and water.

For extra protection, I found a 3 inch plastic shipping plug that can be installed over the complete fuel filler neck, to keep the fuel filler area extra clean...

Makes me think of the new Ford F150, having an aluminum body. Some folks don't realize that the metal is, by weight, stronger than steel. Flown in a commercial plane recently?

The capless filler is not used just by Ford. Cadillac started in 2013, on their XTS. I personally like them, but wish the compartment had a locking cover, accessible only from inside the car.

In case you haven't noticed the link in my signature, I work on a B-17E, and have a pretty good idea how strong aluminum can be. It is amazing how strong it gets when you take a few pieces of flimsy aluminum and rivet it all together. Standing in this piece of history it makes you think back to when these were in action over enemy territory with huge bullets whipping through that thin skin and how these planes were able to survive and bring them home. All that is between you and the sky is .020" thick aluminum.
