Right Rear Rattling

I've been having a rattling noise in the right rear of the car when I drive, it almost sounds like two pieces of metal lightly clinking together. I've gone in the trunk and tried to shake everything I can to find out where it's coming from, I've even checked the "spare tire" area and have come up with nothing. Maybe it's something under the car.

I just wondered if any of you have had this problem and found the cause.

I guess it'll be on my checklist of things (along with blurry review camera and right rear passenger chrome strip not flush with the door) when I take it in to the dealer.

Check the rear seat belt. On a previous car I had it would sometime not store correctly and would cause a rattle.

Thanks. I had checked that before and it didn't seem to be the culprit. I'll look again tomorrow morning.

I had a noise like that when I first got the car, sounded like a coat was hanging out the door and banging against the car while driving. I think it was a loose piece of weatherstrip on the right rear door. It eventually went away. However from your description, maybe its a loose piece on the brake caliper. Since someone else reported a spring clip on their brake came loose and damaged a rotor, would be too far fetched an idea.

It only seems to happen when I'm going over bumps, even very very slight bumps in the road. If I'm on a very flat road I don't seem to hear it. Maybe it is the brake caliper. Hmmm
