New to the site. 2010 Fusion Hybrid with 130,000 miles. First owner.
Recently had the rear parking aid speaker making loud, screeching noise before it stopped working altogether. When it stopped working, the BLIS failure and back-up warning failure appeared on the dash when the car was started. The warnings can be reset, but the two systems don't work correctly.
One cause for these failures is known to be the speaker not functioning. That sounds silly to me, but I ordered a genuine Ford replacement speaker for $35 and replaced it. All systems work properly now.
This is just a heads up for others who may encounter the same problem so you can save the $300+ dealer charges...
And when you try to find any information on how to drop the rear seat back but it's not shown ANYWHERE you think you should find it, here's a link to the site where my wife found the instructions. Yes, it's in an Emergency Response Guide for first responders to disconnect the HV battery after an accident.
The answer is on page 9 of this pdf document.
