Service Advancetrac and Check Rear Park Aid Warnings

Recommended Posts

Hello, new to the forum but recently ran into some issues with my new to me 2013 Fusion Hybrid. While driving down the express earlier this week car all of a sudden displayed "Service Advancetrac", "Check rear park aid system", and "Hill Start Assist not Available". Lights showing up on the dash are advancetrac off, safety restraint system, ABS.

Possibly unrelated, a day later about halfway through my commute, a "Tire Pressure Monitor Fault" also showed up. That code seems to be cleared upon starting the vehicle but then comes back after 20 miles or so of driving.

I used a Forscan App to read the diagnostic codes for the faults and came up with the following:

Under Battery Energy Control Module:

U0401 - Invalid Data Received From ECM/PCM

Under Parking Aid Module:

U0401 - Invalid Data Received From ECM/PCM

U0415 - Invalid Data Received From ABS Control Module

Under Body Control Module:

B1445 - Rear Park Lamps Output

Additional Fault Symptom:
- Circuit Short To Battery Or Open

My internet searches have revealed that there is a communication fault between the ECM and ABS control module, but have not found much info beyond that.

Any ideas on what the fix is for these codes? Are they related to each other?
Thanks in advance.
Full diagnostic output from Forscan app is attached

Are you using a quality OBD2 bus interface or one of those $15.95 versions? Do you leave it connected all of the time? There have been reports in the past of OBD2 bus interfaces corrupting the communication between modules.

I use the OBDLink MX

If it wasn't connected when the faults happened then there may be a corroded connector causing communication problems between modules.

The scanner I was using is an inexpensive Bluetooth device purchased on Amazon. It was connected the entire time the codes were read. I do not have a service manual yet, so am not sure of the actual location of the ABS controller in the vehicle. Can someone tell me which connections to check? I have already looked at all of the fuses that seem to pertain to the ABS and rear park and system.
