at a glance, ID the driver assist package/adaptive cruise

Hi everyone,

 

I might be headed to San Antonio on Monday to get a silver Fusion Energi titanium 2013.

 

The sales guy is having a hard time figuring this out, so when I look at the car I see radar sensors around the back and sides of the rear bumper, and radar sensors around the front and sides of the front bumper. Is this a good indication that I have adaptive cruise control and active park? How can I tell if it has the driver assist package? Is the bulky rearview mirror a good indication also?

For adaptive cc the sensor is located behind the shiny black plastic part on the lower left front of the car. you cannot see the sensor. It's a sad state of affairs when the salesman can't accurately describe the features on the car he has for sale. really bad....good luck.

I am assuming it is not from a Ford dealer. If it is at a Ford dealer they can also pull up what is exactly on the car and what recalls are outstanding.

If the steering wheel has a "gap" button, you have adaptive cruise. If the console has an "active park" button, it has active park. The sensors on the front bumper only come with active park.

To elaborate about the active park button, look for a button to the right of the shifter that has a "P" sign with a steering wheel stamped on it.

Doesn't the collision alert go along with the adaptive cruise? If so, just look for the red bar on top of the driver's dash that shines up onto the windshield when activated.
