I was thinking of installing a trailer hitch, like this one:




and pulling a motorcycle cargo trailer like this:




or even this:





I would use this for luggage on family vacation.  We have 3 kids under the age of 7, so no room in the car.  I thought any issues of gas mileage that might be incurred may be offset by not having anything or very little (from a weight perspective) in the trunk.


Anyone have experience with a similar setup or have thoughts?

If you are talking about towing a trailer with the FFH you should not do it. The following is from the FFH owner's manual:




Never tow a trailer with a Fusion Hybrid. This powertrain is not designed to tow.


While those trailers are small and light weight it could cause your warranty to be voided.
