BiXLL Report post Posted October 11, 2014 Was looking at a Fusion on a local lot that was the Tectonic Silver. I mean I REALLY like it, then wife says to me that I am liking an "old man" color!!!!! Whats the opinion?
GrySql Report post Posted October 11, 2014 She might be meaning that it's a 4-door, not a Mustang convertible. ;)The color is great.

BiXLL Report post Posted October 11, 2014 (edited) Have you seen it in person? To me its a combination of a light beige and silver. I really like it, and I bet it would be an easy color to keep looking good. I also like the fact that it is different from the everyday colors you see. Hybrider Report post Posted October 12, 2014 I just saw the Tectonic Silver on a Fusion for the first time on Friday, as I made a trip to my dealer's lot specifically to look at the new 2015 Fusion colors and wheels. The Tectonic Silver to me looks like a beigy gold, but I do like it for the most part. My favorite "old man" color these days is a silvery light gold, but would prefer one that is maybe a little darker and a little golder than the Tectonic Silver is. In my younger days, I would have opted for the eye-candy appeal of the Deep Impact Blue or maybe even the Ruby Red. But nowadays, now that I am older, I go for the more functional colors that don't show dirt as easy and which are cooler in the desert heat. If the Tectonic Silver had been available on the 2014's, I definitely would have ordered it though, over the Ingot Silver that I ended up ordering. But since the 18" Appearance Pkg 5-spoke wheels are no longer available on the 2015 FFH, my current choice of build would still be the 2014 Ingot Silver with the 18" 5-spoke wheels which I got, over the 2015 Tectonic Silver with the 17" "little-brother" version of the 19" H-Spoke Titanium wheels, the ones that come with the FFH Appearance Pkg now on the 2015s. djminfll Report post Posted October 13, 2014 Of course, this is always a matter of each person's opinion. I know I'm in the minority, but I would NEVER get any car in either silver or gold, I just don't like the color. I know some manufacturers charge a premium for silver or gold cars because they are more popular, but I just don't care for them. To me, I still think the nicest FFH color ever was the Dark Side, and that was discontinued after only 1 model year... so much for my opinion! But the bottom line is, if you like the color, you're the one that has to get in and out of the car and drive it every day, you have to like the color. 2 corncobs and GrySql reacted to this
donsdinr Report post Posted October 13, 2014 Does the sticker include an extra $395 for paint? I still can't believe I paid extra for the paint on my Ruby Red. It was the only FFH that the dealer had in stock. Paint? An option? What next? Tires? 1 lesjoh reacted to this

RR is well worth the money if you ask me ;) 3 jeff_h, GrySql and lesjoh reacted to this

I ordered a '13 MKZh and paid the extra for the Ruby Red. If I was to order a new one today, I would get the Platinum Dune that also costs extra. nv rick Report post Posted October 14, 2014 (edited) " To me, I still think the nicest FFH color ever was the Dark Side" Our '14 MKZ-h is Dark Side. The only problem I could see is if it were ever stolen. What color goes on the police report? Depending on the light, it can appear dark green or blue, and at night, it passes for black. It really is a nice color though, and it broke my resolution never to buy a dark colored car again. It sparkles with a luster that I haven't seen on that many grey cars before. 1 hybridbear reacted to this

It was the only FFH that the dealer had in stock. Paint? An option? What next? Tires?I have a Ruby Red Fiesta. The extra cost paint colors are typically tri-coat colors - either a pearl or metallic with colored topcoat (like candy colors almost). Before the Ruby, I had a '12 that was Red Candy - also extra cost. 1 corncobs reacted to this

Cobra348 Report post Posted October 26, 2014 (edited) Bronze Fire seems to cost extra..........but it is so BITCHEN lookin'!Local dealer has what I think is a Bronze Fire Fusion on the lot. I've seen the paint color book for it and it does look nice. If the car I'm thinking of is BF I will say that it looks more brown than anything from a distance. We'll see, tho ... I'll head there tomorrow and see if I can get some pics. Edited October 26, 2014 by Cobra348

ElCamino Report post Posted October 26, 2014 Two weeks with my 15' Fusion SE Hybrid. Really enjoying the drives and especially saving gas. I picked up the Tectonic Silver, though it doesn't really look silver at all. More like a gold tan color. 2 hybridbear and BiXLL reacted to this

Cobra348 Report post Posted October 27, 2014 Within about 10 feet it's gorgeous, but from bout 20 feet away it has a distinct brownish color and the metallic is not evident. I'm skipping the pics since these are so much better. And I like the 10-spoke rims in the upper pic ... my favorite!
acdii Report post Posted October 27, 2014 I have an issue with silver. Both my Toyota's were silver. Both cars left a bad taste in my mouth, which is too bad, since the Flex actually looks good in silver with the black top and rims.
