jocasio001 Report post Posted February 24, 2017 Dear Ford Fusion Hybrid Forum, I experienced a frightening brake experience in my 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The car has only 13351 miles. I decided to check the US DOT NHTSA for other reports. I'm seeing lots of mention to the Brake Booster symptom on the forum, but nothing in the US DOT NHTSA site. So I decided to record my experience to make sure it is documented in case any future occurrences cause injury. The dealer service center recommended replacing the Brake Booster. My question to the site members, monitors and to the Ford Service reps is why is this a recurring issue? Ford should improve the quality of the part or whatever is causing this part to become damaged. Please share your comments. I would like to know your views. murphy Report post Posted February 24, 2017 Until you describe exactly what happened I have no idea what problem you encountered. I will say that if you are regen braking and one of the front wheels loses contact with the ground (pot hole, low manhole cover, ice) ALL braking will cease immediately and it will feel like you are accelerating even though you are not. The only option when that happens is to push the brake pedal harder to engage the friction brakes. It's a result of the way a differential works and nothing can be done about it. 2 jeff_h and Timewellspent reacted to this
rjrfusion Report post Posted February 26, 2017 After two months of using my new 2017 Fusion Hybrid Platinum I now have an issue. yesterday I started the car my screen had a horizontal blue Loading bar and the words above which stated "System Off to save Battery". I let the blue bar continue to load. When complete my radio did not work. Tapped the Audio button and nothing happens. I also have no sound from my Nav. system which still give directions. My connected phone has no sound on the phone or on speaker. Also prior to this, not sure if it's related, I have gotten a "Deep sleep Mode Activated" on my Ford Pass message. Any Thoughts? Bringing car in for service this coming week. 1 Eddy reacted to this
murphy Report post Posted February 26, 2017 That means that the 12 volt battery charge level has gotten too low. It can happen if you don;t drive every day or take a lot of very short trips that don't provide enough time for the DC-DC converter to charge the 12 volt battery. There are microprocessors that are always on which puts a continuous load on the 12 volt battery.
rjrfusion Report post Posted February 26, 2017 Thank you. So I'm assuming when I bring the car to the service dept they will need to reset something and/or recharge the battery which will allow me to get my radio and other systems to work again. I use my car daily but most of the time they are short trips (2-5 miles per day). Does this mean I will continuously have an issue? Any way around this besides going around the block 20 times?:)
murphy Report post Posted February 26, 2017 When my car is going to sit for several days I connect a smart (charge at full power until full then switch to maintenance mode) battery charger to the terminals under the hood.

rjrfusion Report post Posted April 7, 2017 It will be a month this week since the battery was replaced. Happy to report all is well with the car. Damm windows need to be reset every so often but I can deal with that with the quick reset fix I found on the forum.
rjrfusion Report post Posted April 19, 2017 F___ing Sleep Mode issue did not last long. I went away for 5 days. Came back late last night, went to garage to get car and drive home only to find the car DEAD! Used the manual key to get in and tried the "manual" start per the FordPass app which said the car was in Sleep Mode due to not being used for 14 days or more. Well 3rd time this happened. Went to All American Ford in Hackensack and each time I expected it to be fixed. I was only away 5 days not 14. Manual Car start would not work. Had to call ford to get jump start. Going back to the dealer who said they are getting a Ford Service Rep to look at car. Lemon Law time? Car is only 4 months old.

SWJ Report post Posted April 27, 2022 2013 Ford fusion - signal lights suddenly stopped working, and nothing that control from steering wheel functions (can't change display, clear tire fault etc)?

That sounds very similar to the issue with my 2015 FFH a year and a half ago. It turned out to be the "steering column control module".
