padero9615 Report post Posted May 7, 2014 Hi guys, Sorry if this issue has already been covered. However, I didn't find anything using the search function. I have a 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid here with no remotes (keys). I can get the vehicle in to neutral and the vehicle has power but I can't get the electronic emergency break to disengage. Is there any way to manually realease this break so I can move the vehicle? I haven't been able to find anything on it anywhere. Thank so much for any info you can provide. murphy Report post Posted May 7, 2014 There is no manual release. It's applied by a motor. Normal release.Put your foot on the brake pedal and push down on the parking brake switch. I've seen in other vehicles if you lift up the center console you can find a loop wire of some sort to pull up that would release the break... GrySql Report post Posted May 7, 2014 If you can put the car in neutral and the battery is charged, try this.Close the driver's door and fasten the driver's safety belt, now get someone to push the car forward.This is called the 'drive away release mode', it might work. Have not used it, but going to the manual it's on page 170 and you life up to engage and push down to release. GrySql went one better and posted the picture for you. murphy Report post Posted May 7, 2014 Ford Roadside Assistance would not apply to a car in transit from the factory. He works at the place where they unload cars from the train. It's easy to get the car out of Park. Pull off the right side lower console panel, it's held by spring clips. Stick a long screwdriver in the slot and move the colored pawl to release the shifter.I suspect the parking brake release switch just sends a signal to the computer to tell it to release the brake. Easy Rider Report post Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) What else we need to know is that you have a legal right to be moving those cars.........and there is no way for us to know if you have a legal claim on them or not. For all we know, you are just trying to find out how to defeat part of the vehicle security for some other actual purpose and most of the story is "made up". If Ford can't or won't help you, I'm thinking that WE should not either. If, for instance, those cars were destined to be delivered to an actual Ford dealer, you should involve THEM in the problem.They should be able to solve the problem MUCH quicker and easier than you can.
