bonzman17 Report post Posted March 24, 2014 hello to all, I am very new to hybrids and the hybrid way of driving. I never thought that I'd own a hybrid but today was the first day I took my car to work and if the computer is accurate only used .4 gallons of gas to drive 45 miles at 70mph. If I can keep this up it will be worth it. Any help on how to keep the EV mode for longer periods would be great. Thanks and I look foreword to reading up on the car. Ted Swing Report post Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) Welcome to the forums. What did you get in terms of color/options? Edited March 24, 2014 by Ted Swing
bonzman17 Report post Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) Welcome to the forums. What did you get in terms of color/options?Thank you, I got the darker gray, my ford touch, rear camera, auto dimming mirrors, moon roof, heated leather, (not a fan of the wheels but they came with the pkg) I believe that's it. I'm coming from a Mazda 3 sedan and am completely blown away by the ride of this car. Also Ford really stepped up the game with their sound proofing. Feel guilty because I got the new car and the wife is driving the 3. (she stepped down from a Chevy Impala that was nicely loaded) Edited March 24, 2014 by bonzman17
rjent Report post Posted March 26, 2014 I too was new to hybrids. I am crowding a year of ownership next month (30th April) and I am a convert now no doubt about it. I have a lifetime average of over 42 over 14K miles of driving and most of those miles are road trips. You couldn't drag me back to a "normal" car. I am even thinking about building an electric pickup to drive around town because of our Fusion experience. And yes, the Fusion is a cut above normal .... Enjoy it, like fine wine, it gets better with time ...... :) 3 djminfll, corncobs and hybridbear reacted to this

I don't want to be pessimistic, but those numbers don't sound right   If you used 0.4 gallons of gas over 45 miles, that would put you at almost 100 mpg. Are you sure you read that correctly? 1 hybridbear reacted to this

Are you sure you read that correctly?Honestly no I'm not sure.... ;) as the week has gone on I noticed that its been about 1 to 1.2 gallons. Still nonetheless I am happy this far. 2 hybridbear and corncobs reacted to this
