MFT Hybrid Screen 1.2

I guess the original MFT hybrid screen is getting old. Leaves and pipelines aren't enough.

We've discussed a few changes in another post.

 

But, This is closer to what I would like this screen to look like.

 

Any suggestions?

What do the % numbers mean for electric motor, other and climate?

 

I like the idea of showing the HVB SOC on the screen. Although, the way the car is programmed we never get to 78% of the useable SOC unless you're going down a mountain.

 

The car already measures the fuel level as a percent (can be found in ET Mode) so it would be easy to display the fuel level as a percent of tank remaining rather than gallons remaining.

 

The battery temp also would never reach 335 degrees or it would catch fire...at a little over 110F the car will shut down the battery to protect it. Energi owners have found that in the summer their ICE will turn on because the battery is getting too hot from use. I believe this happens at 114F.

I wanted to show the draw on the battery pack. I couldn't decide if a - % of charge or drawing amps were better. Both seemed to have benefits, for different users.

Volts will not show the actual power used by the motor very well.

From the screen I used, It appears to be confusing. I was looking at the screen as a parked car. But I guess the 47instant MPG is off. My bad.

I want a number for the battery. Not a AA battery graph 1-100%.

Easy to change the 335 number. The temp was just a guess. The color is the feature. Green, Yellow, and Red.

 

 

 

Also was considering that Water could show the different temps of the 2 cooling systems. Gas or Electric. By tapping on the word "Water".

Same with the "HV Battery".

Tap "HVB" and you will see the Temp or the Amps/ Volts alternate.

 

"Fuel" would also get the same treatment. Gas in tank or current GPH as used on the ScanGaugeII.

 

I really wanted a tach also. It's still a work in progress.

That would actually be a useful screen, numbers are so much more helpful than the flow lines. The only time I use that screen is if I'm showing somebody the vehicle for the first time.

The screen in the Toyota has much more information than the current one on MFT that is constantly changing, With practice you can read the screen at a glance(then again I did drive a Semi and reading the dash gauges while driving it part of the training). Once your brain is accustomed to the location of each reading, you can glance and get what you need in a flash.

I would really like to see the above screen become available. It would be so much more informative. Maybe they could have a technical view like this and the simple view option for those who just want a simple summary like the present. Many of us, though, say, Tell me more". Ford reps, please give this one serious consideration.

I think it would be great to be able to have one of the quadrants on the Home screen display the EV information. For example, if you're not using your phone at the moment, why not switch that quadrant to display some EV information?

I like that idea. I really want it more open sourced. Let us build it.

 

But, The more you do move. The more you need to redo the other screens. It ends up getting an extreme makeover for the entire dash.

I do have enough compasses. And the rubber plant tells me so little.

 

What I find funny in the Fusion.

It, looks like an Aston Martin.

Handles like a Mini Cooper.

And the dashboard reads like a Honda Generator.

Where is the sport dash package version?

A good point. Undecided on the location,

Placing the MPG/Trip readouts in place of the rubber plant may be a solution. Others gauges are less view critical.

But, every change affects something else's position.

I havent figured a good way to incorporate this idea into this graphic. Wish it just worked to maximize peak performance temp on its own.

Is it benefit to add a monitor on it? We have no control on it.

 

This idea had me think of turning the cars view, to more of a slightly angled face view. Just reroute some piping.

It would look much nicer.

Maybe if the picture can be touched to turn the view and therefor change the data displayed like the shutter status. This would also avoid that the screen looks too busy with too much information at once.
