vangonebuy Report post Posted October 6, 2013 The Mr's has been driving our 13FFH for almost 7K miles. Same commute most days. But the car only recognizes our home as a EV+ site. Never at work........ Any idea's on this. Sure would like it if both were recognized.
corncobs Report post Posted October 6, 2013 What location is work? Could it be a parking garage so the GPS signal is not received by the car. After the PCM update it took about 2 weeks to find home and the same time after the hard reset. My car has yet to find work after the update but it took also about 4 weeks finding work the first time and there it's parked without obstructions to the sky. hybridbear Report post Posted October 6, 2013 Other users have determined that EV+ takes 11 key cycles at a particular location. We found that if you go somewhere only 4-5 times a week it will take a long time to get EV+ at that location. Since you turn off the car at your home much more often than that it learns home more quickly. You can teach it EV+ by repeatedly starting the car and then turning it off at a location so that it learns faster.
vangonebuy Report post Posted October 7, 2013 Could it be a parking garage so the GPS signal is not received by the car. It's an open field. Clear skies. You can teach it EV+ by repeatedly starting the car and then turning it off at a location so that it learns faster. I'll give this a try. But is it best to just on/off the car. OR Move it to another parking spot? Guess, I'll try both. Till this is working. Just surprised that EV+ hadn't locked in on this yet.
Da0ne Report post Posted October 7, 2013 (edited) i think that 11 key cycle does the trick because on my trip to Charlotte NC (i was only there for 4 days) i did do alot of running around and by the 3rd day it was showing EV+ at the hotel Edited October 7, 2013 by Da0ne
Nick P Report post Posted October 28, 2013 I noticed that after I got the software update it learned my home in about 2-3 weeks but it took almost 2 months to learn my work location. I would say just hang in there and wait at least 8 weeks. It should eventually get there.
KLH Report post Posted October 28, 2013 Just to be clear... there can be more than one EV+ location? My car only recognizes my home.
gmarshall Report post Posted October 28, 2013 (edited) Yes I currently have three EV+ locations Home, Work and my Ford Dealer (the last one not such a good thing). Edited October 28, 2013 by gmarshall
corncobs Report post Posted October 28, 2013 Just to be clear... there can be more than one EV+ location? My car only recognizes my home. Yes more than one. I think someone mentioned 5 or 7 a while back. The only one nobody once is the dealer location. That just means your spend way too much time there but we had and have such cases. It took almost 4 weeks for mine to learn work. She got home much quicker even without faking the 11 key cycles.
acdii Report post Posted October 29, 2013 Once you stop going to the dealer, after a few weeks it will go away. The EV+ by the bocy shop that repainted the bumper no longer comes up.
djminfll Report post Posted October 29, 2013 Yes I currently have three EV+ locations Home, Work and my Ford Dealer (the last one not such a good thing).Wow, that's not a good sign that it recognizes the Ford Dealer! Mine recognized my office within about a week. But I have been working from home about 90% of the time, so it no longer recognizes the office location.
