Bigjerm Report post Posted September 23, 2013 So I have been trying to find a cell phone mount for my Fusion. I would love to have one in arms reach and somewhere near a power source. After doing a quick Google search I found the one from ProClip. But after reading and finding out that I would have to pay nearly $50 for the mount and holder I decided to research elsewhere. I have seen a cell phone mount for the dash, with use of a suction cup, but after reading some reviews it seems that it could cause permanent damage to the soft texture of the dash. And there are the "bean bag" versions for the dash. Which would work but usually is not pleasant to keep on the dash at all times. So what do you guys use for cell phone mounts. And where do you install them at? And if you have pictures, for reference, that would be awesome. Also, I use an iPhone 5 so the mount would have to be for a smart phone. Thanks! murphy Report post Posted September 23, 2013 My cellphone stays in my pocket. It is connected to the car via Bluetooth and works fine for answering calls or listening to texts. The caller name appears in the right driver screen.I can push a button on the steering wheel to answer or ignore it. 4 djminfll, corncobs, hybridbear and 1 other reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted September 23, 2013 If i need to charge it, I just put it under the dash next to the power receptacle. It stays in place rather nicely with how I drive. I toss the wife and kids around more than the phone. Since I dont need to touch the phone to use it, no need for it to be anywhere else. Now if you use it for something like navigation, or a ODBII dongle, then a windshield mount would be best, and it doesn't pay to have a cheap one, if it falls off while driving, it could cause a potential incident. thavil Report post Posted September 24, 2013 Spend the money on a ProClip mount and holder and you will not be disappointed. I bought the one that mounts on the passenger side riser near the power outlet. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
cincidaddi Report post Posted September 24, 2013 (edited) I purchased an iOttie mount for $16.99 on Amazon. It works great and fits nicely without interfering with the nice styling of the dash. It's also close to the power source under the console.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0099RGRT8/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I use a retractable charger as well that keeps the cord from making a mess.$17.99 on Amazon. They work well together.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004JQPI3U/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Edited September 24, 2013 by cincidaddi 1 hybridbear reacted to this

The SYNC system will allow me to dial anyone in my contact list, or I can direct it to dial a specific number. I personally think that a phone holder detracts from the aesthetics of the interior. But, to each his/her own... 2 hybridbear and corncobs reacted to this
Bigjerm Report post Posted September 24, 2013 Yeah. I guess I should have mentioned I use Waze for Navigation. So it would need to be out of my pocket.
SteveB_TX Report post Posted September 24, 2013 Now is not the time to cheap-out! Get a quality mount like the ProClip or iBolt. Personally, I like the sleek look of the iBolt mount. :)
MaineFusion Report post Posted September 25, 2013 I use a mount that suction cups to my windshield. It puts my cellphone near my line of sight when I want to use its navigation. The rest of the time it stays in my pocket.
LASooner Report post Posted September 30, 2013 I love the pro clip and like the idea that when I get a new phone I need to only get a new head for it.

machoman1337 Report post Posted September 28, 2015 I recommend one that can go inside the CD slot (for non-nav models, if you have nav equipped it'll block the screen). E.g. http://www.amazon.ca/Mountek-nGroove-Universal-Phones-Devices/dp/B004G1L52Q
Cobra348 Report post Posted September 28, 2015 I put it in the right-hand cup holder on the console. If I need to charge it, the cord gets plugged into the 12V under the center stack or inside the console and fed thru the slot to the phone. Answer or call via bluetooth and I need nothing else. For any beverages, well isn't what those holders in the doors are for? <shrug>
