djminfll Report post Posted August 6, 2013 I just checked the Ford owner site and checked my dealership. Info states:Special convenience services:Online Appointment Scheduling>>>Certified Electric Vehicle Repair<<<Quick Lane™ Tire & Auto CenterSells TiresParticipates in Owner Advantage Rewards®Saturday SalesSaturday Service So the dealership should be capable. I'll find out this afternoon, I guess...Well, guess what? I just spoke to the dealer again, and he told me that the mechanic has reprogrammed the windows, radio and SYNC systemThen he said that he took the car for a test drive, and it got 50mpg. I advised him that I can bring him in corncobs picture of EV mode at over 65mph, mine will not go into EV over 62. He says that the software update was done correctly, so they are not repeating it. I told him that if that's the case, I will bring it somewhere else to do it correctly. So he tells me that he will keep the car another night and have the technician re-evaluate the work that was done. Not only do I not have faith in this dealerships expertise, but I'm stuck with the 2011 Lincoln Town Car loaner that is getting 16mpg for another day. Let's see what happens tomorrow. corncobs Report post Posted August 6, 2013 Good luck !!! If you need another picture let me know! Another easy test / confirmation would be looking at the EV threshold (blue frame) which does no longer disappear when going over 62 MPH. 1 djminfll reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted August 6, 2013 No complaints about my dealer 30 min done and done. He just gave me a look when I told him about the version they need to use and he responded " our computers get updated daily and our tech's know what they are doing " Well it appears they really know what they are doing. A little bit on the cocky side? Just imagine if they did get it wrong! LOL 1 corncobs reacted to this
expresspotato Report post Posted August 6, 2013 Glad my update went successfully. It's kind of easy to tell, my units were changed (to L/100 KM from KM/L) and EV+ was turned back on. Here is me doing 120 KM/h (75 MPH) on the drive home! 2 Fastronaut and jeff_h reacted to this

corerwh Report post Posted August 6, 2013 I had the update done this AM and it takes 30 minutes. Make a copy of the update and take it with you. Your dealer sounds really scary. Hopefully it wont be as scary as I'm imagining. I printed the letter of a couple nights ago and plan on leaving it in the driver's seat. I will also remind them personally about updating their system.
expresspotato Report post Posted August 7, 2013 Just got the MFT 3.6 Update today as well. Feels like a brand new car! Update on the performance: Seems like it will EV it a bit more than before the update and the vehicle is better on the highway without a doubt. Achieving 20KM/L (47 MPG) is easier than it was before the update... 3 hybridbear, jeff_h and corncobs reacted to this
jeapa Report post Posted August 7, 2013 I stopped by the dealer on my way home last night to make an appt. to have the update done. The service guy checks the computer and tells me they already did my car. I told him that they must not have done it correctly because car won't go into EV mode above 62 mph. He says well it was done and I said I want to have it done again. They only have one tech that works on hybrids so I am going to have to take time off to get this done. I went ahead and made an appt. for Monday afternoon, but I am nervous. I sure hope they don't mess up my car. I am going to print out some of the information from this thread and take it with me. If it doesn't you should be good. You can also test if your car goes in EV over 62MPH. If it does you're all set. When was the car built? Since the update came out on July 26th, the dealer had time to apply it (even if the car wasn't build with the update).

hermans Report post Posted August 7, 2013 Today I went to Costco to fill up. A trip I take one a month and I went the same exact way I do every time. I always got 46 mpg. Today this is the first trip to Costco since the PCM re-program was done and I got 54.2. That's an improvement in my book of stuff. 10.8 mile trip no lights and 8 stop signs. 2 Fastronaut and Da0ne reacted to this

It started out in the mid-30's and we are now regularly getting low-high 40's WITHOUT the SW update. I will schedule it later this month. One thing to note is that the MPG gets better. We started out with a delivered lifetime average of 12 MPG. Edited August 7, 2013 by Fastronaut

Mine came from the factory with an average of about 18 mpg. They must have been trying for a new record going around the test track. If you haven't, do a reset so you can get more accurate results. 1 spicedsp03 reacted to this
