This car doesn't stop surprising me...

I have driven a VW Jetta for 11 years. For the last few months I have been carpooling with a friend. I usually drive her car when it's her turn.

It's a $80,000 2008 Audi A8. Every time I used to drive her car, the difference was huge compared to my old Jetta. I just loved it and I couldn't wait for my

turn to drive it.

 

Last week I got my FFH Titanium and I have been driving it until yesterday. Today I drove her car again...

I got very surprised, this time I felt like I was driving my old Jetta again... The car looked noisy to me and the handling was not smooth at all now. I had got used to my new car

and now this one looked like a much worse car. It's really impressive how relaxed and how much I can enjoy driving my new car compared to the Audi.

 

It's interesting that you don't realize how good or bad is your car until you drive a better one!

 

So, yes, I love my Fusion! :)

Give the Fusion 4-5 years and it'll feel just like the old Jetta :) I think all cars are great when new and with time they start making sounds, get rougher and not as relaxing. Enjoy it while it lasts :)

 

PS. My Fusion is my first new car and I also love it !!!

oh I dont know, the 2010 FFH I had with 45K on it was just as quiet and drove just the same as when I first got it, except for the squawnk in the left rear from hitting the curb last winter. It also had an annoying squeak in the dash from day one that could never be located.

I agree, you take care of a car, and it can feel and drive just like a new one for a long time. That has been my experience. Of course I have driven mostly Fords .... :)

My 2010 FFH now has 157k when I changed the oil a couple weeks ago (is now owned by wife's best friend) and it still runs like new - and all I've been adamant about is changing the oil every 5k (yeah I know it says 10k, there are other threads that debate that), changing engine belt every 50k, spark plugs changed at 100k, and I changed battery at 145k as preventive measure since it was 3½ years old and I didn't want her to have issues with it... but it still looks and runs like new, probably since I never drove it like a rental car...

I agree completely. You maintain your car, oil changes, I like using Motor Home seal lube on the door seals once or twice a year to keep them soft, change your oil regular and ofter, wash and wax often, and keep it clean inside and you can expect ten or more years of "new" car driving. If you start having problems, trade it. Until you do, drive it! :)

Our car has 12.000+ miles now and still feels like new. The interior still looks perfect when we get everything clean and the outside looks great except for the stone chips on the hood. It definitely feels like a much more expensive car and is fantastic! We hope to take really good care of it so that it will still feel like new in 7 years and 100,000 miles

Well I guess that is a caveat needed - there were a few stone chips on the front of the 2010 FFH but since it was Sterling Gray they were not noticeable unless one was looking closely for them. Now on the 2013 Ruby Red, I already have several similar chips that I try to touch-up, once one of those chips appears and shows the contrast of gray primer to red paint, well that sticks out very prominently. But nothing you can you about those, so much traffic and things getting kicked up etc, oh well.

Here are pix of my 2007 Volvo S60 that I sold when I got the FFH. Most people agreed that it didn't look anywhere near 5 or 6 years old. I kept it washed and waxed, made sure that damaging things like bird poop were cleaned off as quickly as possible, the car was kept in my garage. I also use a sun shield in the front windshield when the car was parked outside. I hope my FFH looks as good when it is as old!
