I have one actually, but it might just be a loose part in the door panel that I haven't been able to find. The tint shop I took my car to I THINK removed the door panels to better access the windows. But I could be wrong about that location. Mine is a very small rattle that can occur over the tiniest of bumps.

I have this also, I think I have it narrowed down to the faux wood trim piece on the passenger door. I notice if the radio is up loud enough I can get it to rattle from the bass, when I press in that area it seems to stop.

Sometimes I found a part could be not fully seated. When I first got the Flex there was a rattle behind my head in the headliner. I reached back and gave it a firm push and the rattle was gone. I felt it click in too. the overhead holder on the Fusion drove me nuts for weeks and then finally stopped buzzing, I dont know it it was a piece of flash or what but it eventually did go away. I would get it to stop for a little while by opening and closing it too.

I've confirmed that it's coming from my door panel, right around where the handle and speaker are. I'm gonna spend some time with it this afternoon.

I've noticed this too when the bass on certain songs is just right. Seems to be coming from the passenger door panel. I'll have to try to "re seat" the panel abd hope that works.

Fit and Finish is covered under the 3/36 B2B warranty.

Are there any places that specialize in fixing rattles? It's getting ridiculous how many rattles I'm getting now. Somewhere in the b pilar or drivers side passenger door, dash cluster area, passenger seat belt makes noise hitting against passenger seat when passenger seat is empty, and a couple other rattles I can't seem to pinpoint. It drives me nuts. That along with the stink smell that I sometimes experience Is getting me frustrated with the quality of the fit and finish of this car. Otherwise I love that car, ha.

Hi all,

Has anyone else been experiencing these rattles?

- There is a rattle on the driver and passenger door panels, where the silver plastic that surrounds the faux wood trim meets the black (or beige) plastic surrounding it. This same rattle could also be where the black (or beige) plastic meets the soft part.

- For me the driver side pillar, in the airbag or with the seatbelt extenable panels meet, this drives me nuts as it right by my ear.

- The center console rattles when closed.

- There is a rattle coming from the front passenger side near the A pillar (small window). There is very flimsy airbag cover (knee airbag) along with the pillar airbag. Somewhere in there it rattles too.

Ford should really hire this japenese guy... They call them Takumi's or Noise Hunters. Ford has gotten the worst rating in terms of reliablity from Consumer Reports for 2014. NONE of the North American domestic brands made it into the top 10 - NONE!!! Top 8 spots were all Japanese brands, Toyota, Acura, Lexus, Honda...

My 2013 FFH had a passenger door rattle. I found a TSB 13-5-3 regarding this rattle. Cars built on or before 1/8/2013. I took this info to the dealer and they fixed the rattle.

I have the same B pillar rattle next to my ear as well. I don't hear it all the time so it isn't repetitive pattern or high pitch noise which I can't stand at all while driving.

My guess its the plastic panels for the seatbelt adjustment... Theyre not tight or anything.

Any guesses?

Hi all,

Has anyone else been experiencing these rattles?

Hi expresspotato,

I will be happy to assist, my friend. :) By the way, have you contacted your dealer? Please send me the year and odometer reading of the vehicle; I will check the available resources.

Yes but them and I are getting tired of seeing each other. Every time I go there its hours and hours of waiting and I got lip from one of the tech's starting to tell me "Could be uneven road surfaces". Very helpful.

I was in for the TSB for the "Ting pop click" sound, but before that TSB was issued:

- Came in for leather shift knob, they needed to inspect it first (just to be sure, a photo wouldn't do). Ordered the knob.

- Installed the knob

- They inspected ordered brakes

- They installed brakes

- Returned for further diagnosis, ordered CV shafts

- Installed the CV shafts

- Returned for diagnosis called hotline

- Returned for diagnosis before they would order the TSB parts. Ordered TSB parts.

- Fixed that, but caused another problem. Large clack sound going from forward to reverse, I now suspect the messed up the breaks.

- Performed the TSB again as per hotline instructions. Ordered side door panel part for rattle.

- Came back, they said they couldn't hear it. I told them to take it overnight and give me a rental (I had to pay mind you). They also did the fuel delivery model (aka something in the fuel tank) recall.

* Now the center console rattle and driver side pillar rattle start... Visit #14 and #15 no doubt :(

- I'm sure there were a few more in there... So visit # 13 is starting to get *****ing nuts.

So enough is enough my friend... I've PM'ed you the VIN, Build date, odometer. Ford build quality really is sub-par... :(

I feel your pain expresspotato. I had the same sound from the drivers side B pillar in my 2013. The best way I could describe it was like two metal coat hangers lightly touching together. It drove me crazy. I stuffed a hand towel in between the rear door and the B pillar. I centered it vertically between the top and bottom of the window then closed the door, it would somewhat stop the problem for a while. I agree that there is definitely something wrong with the build quality of some of these cars.

I've had my share of noises too.

1. door panels (driver side) - in my case I found that it was the tweeter. they are smaller than the bracket that holds them. the dealer popped the tweeter out and added some foam to the edge of the tweeter and replaced it (front door). that worked. I did the rear door myself using felt tape. rattle/buzz gone.

2. b-pillar (driver side) - frequent rattle. dealer replaced adjustable seat belt holder. rattle gone.

3. constant squeak with body flex from b-pillar?, doors? (driver side) - took to dealer 4-5 times for this one. they adjusted doors, which worked a little. I coated weather strips with silicone and then Vaseline to rule out the weather strip and the sound continued. finally took the service manager for a ride. he kept it and called the ford engineers. they checked welds and whatever else. they almost settled for "oh well, not sure what to do.' luckily, as recommended by the ford engineer, they finally injected expanding foam into the b-pillar and now the constant squeak that I've heard for over a year is gone.

overall I like the car, but it has to be the noisiest one that I've ever owned.

My 2014 is starting to have a rattle on the passenger's side. I'll have to check out your tweeter solution, modach. Just like my 2013, the rattles started to get worse around the 3,000 mile mark. I guess the duct tape that holds together the innards of the car start to peel off around that point ;)

I had a rattle from the front passenger side, that I though was coming from the door. It turned out that the wife had not clipped the sun visor back in when she put it back and that is what caused the rattle.

I get a buzz occasionally from the b pillar, but not sure what it is since it happens so little that I forget about it. I get an occasional buzz from the passenger door when certain music plays, could be the tweeter mentioned above. Other than that annoying thump that is either a bad tire or a bad bearing, the car is remarkably quiet. In fact there are times I cant tell if its EV or ICE at highway speeds.

Ive had the pillar rattles into the shop 3 times. They first thought it was the seatbelt assembly and it still rattled soon after. Then they re-welded some points in the drivers side and rattle was gone again. (This was only because it was winter and the car interior shrunk up enough to erase the rattle). It came back as soon as the weather started getting warm.

The rattle occurs where the black and white plastic pieces on the pillar come together. If you press your hand on this area the rattle will stop. The dealership put some rubber between the trim.

Silence!!

I had this pillar rattle in my 2013. I would put a small hand towel folded in half in between the rear driver's side door and the pillar (so it's just inside the door and not sticking out on the outside) and close the door on it. This would stop the rattle for a while, until the towel became loose, at which point I'd have to do it all over again. Ford needs to fix this problem since it seems to be happening to more than a few people.
