Fuelly - What is that?

Now that my vacation is over and my commute will be mainly coming and going from work, I have signed up for fuelly.

My car has spent more time on the road and in Florida than it has at home.

I left for Florida 8 days after getting the car, so I have never used a full tank of gas at home.

Looking forward to seeing how the car will do over time on its normal daily routine.

My current mileage is a little less 3,300.

 

I do have a question for fuelly users. Do you account for city vs highway mileage?

If so, what do you consider city?

 

For instance I have a 12 mile commute to work if I take the highways. A few miles on I-10 (speed limit 60), and even fewer miles on a toll road (speed limit 65). I stay at or below 62 on these roads since I got the Fusion. It really makes little difference in time.

 

I would consider this city driving. To me highway driving involves a road trip, leaving the city.

 

Does this sound right?

 

I consider everything that is within the metro area to be city, even if it means getting on the highway to drive across town. I consider highway mileage to be longer highway drives outside the city. My city/highway percentages on Fuelly are just a rough estimate.

For me anything under 40 is city, which is under 15% of my driving. Makes it easy to keep track this way.

Okay i signed up for fuelly but can't seem to figure out how to put the little banner like you all have in my sig? I read how to do it on the fuelly site but can't seem to figure it out?

Here is a copy of how fuelly tells me to do it but for the life of me I can't find this little thing----- -------- as explained on line 4?

 

Okay nevermind, I finally found it at the bottom of page!! lol.

How do I use a Fuelly forum signature/badge?

A Fuelly forum signature (or badge) is an image that you can use to sign your posts at vehicle discussion forums. The instructions for adding a forum signature will be different for different forums, but here's a general outline:

1. Go to the forum you participate in and see if they have a "signature" feature that allows images.
2. If so, find out if the forum uses "BBCode" or "HTML" to include images.
3. Once you know, go to Fuelly and click on your vehicle.
4. On the vehicle detail page, click the yellow badge icon under Recent Fuel-Ups. It looks like this:
5. On the "Fuelly Signature" page, choose the image you want.
6. Copy either the HTML or BBCode for your image.
7. Go to your forum and paste the code into the form for updating your signature.
