RedLdr1 Report post Posted April 26, 2013 Update: After some calls with Ford Tech Support the Sync PCIM module was successfully reset, rather than replaced, and everything is now working fine. We picked the FFH up last night and Version 3.5.1 seems to be an improvement over the 3.2.2 we were running. The new Hybrid Power Usage Screen looks very similar to the "power" screen I had in my Sonata hybrid. My wife doesn't like it as it "rats out" her lead foot and her need for the heater being on both of which reduce the fuel mileage... ;) We did loose our cell phones pairing and the radio / XMSirius presets in the upgrade process. The good news is the new software makes pairing a cellphone very easy compared to the older version as you no longer need to type in a passkey you just "one click" confirm what is displayed while pairing the phone. Hopefully as more upgrades are installed it will go faster for other folks. Since my dealership, Cherokee Ford, provided us a loaner car while they and Ford figured it out it wasn't a big issue. They also upgraded the shifter knob to the correct one for the 505A Luxury Package while they had the FFH so all the required actions are done on the FFH. Now if they would just release 3.5.1 for my C-MAx I'd be happy as the 3.1.1 version of MFT it has installed really stinks....

I got mine back from the dealer last Wednesday, but then left on a business trip, so tonight I finally got around to playing in the driveway with 3.5.1. I have to say it didn't seem to take them too long to do the update, maybe a couple hours. The car was in for a minor paint fix (the dealer scratched it on replacing the headlights on a recall), so I did it all in one shot. Now to using the system, first off, SO MUCH FASTER, when I click buttons the sound actually syncs up with the actions on the screen . . . as it should! Also, yeah phone pairing is much cleaner! My wife and I like the new "power" screen, and yeah your right RedLdr1, it "rats out" my lead foot lol. The main things I am stoaked about so far is the speed, better navigation destination screens, simplied voice commands for music, and the iPhone compatibility. I can confirm that recieving text messaging does finally work, however sending sadly is still not compatible it appears. The way I got this to work for all you iPhone users out there who have been as frusterated as me is the following steps. Unpair Sync and your iPhone. Turn Bluetooth off on your iPhone and turn off the phone. I also turned off the Fusion at this point and turned off and on MFT to be safe, but this might not have been required. Turn back on your iPhone and MFT and repair the devices. Once your iPhone is paired, go to your bluetooth settings on the phone and click the blue options arrow on the right side of the "Sync" item. You will see "Show Notifications", flip that to ON. Then turn off MFT and back on again (I believe you just probably need to disconnect and reconnect the phone). Now go to phone on MFT and click messaging, it should finally let you in to the screen. Recieving and reading text messages will work, which includes iMessages. Also, RedLdr1 I also got the new shifter knob that was not correctly installed at assembly, although there isn't much difference, but I appreciate them cleaning up their mistake. I hope the information here will be useful to Fusion owners looking for the upgrade. Also if you have Navigation you have to do it at the dealer, it requires a new SD card. 3 sdeeble, gkinla and neod192 reacted to this

I have not noticed any difference, but then my backup camera never has had any static or any other issues. You might want to get that checked as it isn't "normal".... I just got back in from re-pairing my iPhone per your directions. It works! Now I don't have to pull over to get messages. You still can't send but that is another issue. If you push the right OK button the message is spoken over the car speakers. Really neat. 1 sdeeble reacted to this

I was finally able to get my wife's iPhone 5 to send the messages to SYNC !!! Like you said, it's incoming texts only - still can't send them through SYNC. Now if Google would just add the MAP profile to their Nexus devices, I'd be all set!

I have it on my HyTi with MFT and 3.5.1, but others don't.I did not check for that. I'll take a look tomorrow. Checked today - no climate control screen on the right hand display.
