nehmia Report post Posted February 8, 2013 Yesterday I placed my order for a FFH Ti, and I used my wifes X-Plan pin. I wanted to see what others were paying with X-Plan on a barebones FFH Ti. One thing that popped up yesterday was an "advertising fee" around $450 as well as the fuel charge which was $50. Apparently this is applied to all ford vehicles from the manufacture and cannot be changed. Is this true or am I being duped. This came up because the internet sales manager quoted me an OTD price of $29.9k and when I got to the dealership it changed to $31.3k.

Good to see they are still taking orders. They add the Adv Fee and fuel fee to x-plan. You are not being duped, but it does feel like it. I thought the same thing. The Adv. fee will vary by region. Yours is actually pretty low.

Sorry, is that pricing before tax and title? or actually out the door? Thanks.
neod192 Report post Posted February 8, 2013 My advertising fee is $551.00 and the fuel charge is $49.84. Both of these show up on the invoice above the section that shows the total (MSRP and invoice), A/Z plan, D plan and X plan.

Sorry, is that pricing before tax and title? or actually out the door? Thanks. The pricing was for out the door, which included $1000 in rebate (standard rebate and student rebate). Doc fee was $75, and taxes were ~$1000.

We will see. Good to know my adv fee is considered low! :headspin:

shaggy314 Report post Posted February 15, 2013 Advertising fee is what the area Ford district charges each of that type of car for the blanket advertising (radio, tv, etc.). The fuel charge is a somewhat bogus charge for the full tnak of gas that came from the Mexican plant. Since Mexico has subsidized gas, I find it very difficult to see the gas cost anywhere near that, in the case of my car it was over $4/gallon.
acdii Report post Posted February 15, 2013 They only put about 4 gallons of gas in the car so they can drive it up the ramps.

Yes sir -- my car arrived at the dealer on a Friday, we got there to take a look at it on a Saturday before PDI was done and there was ¼ tank in it, which was plenty enough to take a quick test drive. So while I guess it's becoming more common that a dealer would tack on a fuel surcharge to cover their cost of the fillup, mine didn't charge me for it. acdii Report post Posted February 19, 2013 They shouldn't, the first tank is included in the price of the car, at least it is with Toyota. I never had a surcharge on any of my Fords.

wacevedo Report post Posted March 8, 2013 (edited) I'm from OR and I get X-Plan through my employer. I quoted my Hy Ti under X-Plan and had no ADV or gas charges at the dealer. Interesting thing is that I first negotiated the price at the dealer and somehow was able to get the car for $200 under X-Plan Price. I placed an order in early Feb.
