coach81 Report post Posted January 6, 2013 I must say.. I have been a Nissan Man for a very long time (first "brand new" car - Sentra about 25 years ago, a few Quests - we still have the '12 version for our trips to Disney, and now I drive my '02 Frontier).. and I was very pleased with the new Altima... but you can tell they "copied" off of the "new cars" IMHO the FFH's tech.... the one I test drove had all leather, heated seats, navi, moon, sat radio, rear cam, blind spot and rear movement detect along with lane depart warning... sticker was 31K.. I told the salesman... honestly.. if you guys had this thing in a hybrid that could get 35+MPG, I would probably have bought one already... he came back with the Leaf.. which I could not fit my 10 year old in the backseat... But it is nice to know that if this whole FFH thing doesn't work out.. I can always "fall back on" good 'ole Nissan....btw.. the sticker EPA claims 27 mpg city and over 30 on the highway for the 4 cyl CVT in it....
cnsheets Report post Posted January 6, 2013 I've heard a hybrid Altima was in the works, you might get the best of both worlds soon enough.......

acdii Report post Posted January 6, 2013 Toyota has the Avalon as a Hybrid now. I had a Camry, it was lower class than the Fusion, the Avalon is more inline with the Fusion than the Camry.
pers69 Report post Posted January 7, 2013 Test drove the Camry ... didn't like it. Didn't compare to the Fusion at all. Haven't looked at or researched the Avalon whatsoever. Perhaps I will if it doesn't look like I can get in the Fusion I want by the end of February. Or maybe I will just wait some more as I am quite smitten with the Fusion. pers69 Report post Posted January 7, 2013 Yikes - that Avalon is ~10k more. Too rich for my blood - now I see why it wasn't on my earlier search radar. Looks like a nice car though - good specs (the top of the line, "Limited" is similar to the loaded Fusion)
GrayStrider Report post Posted January 7, 2013 My bro has a Camry (has had it for around 2 years), his wife an Altima. He saw our FFH for the first time yesterday and was very impressed. He's a big guy, 6' 4 1/2" and probably 235-250 lbs. He was able to fit in the FFH very comfortably with headroom to spare. The Altima was purchased late summer and it's pretty tight for him to drive. He likes his Camry, but I think the Fusion made an impression for when he needs to replace the Camry. Had two very good legs while running errands today - the first at 42 MPG, the second at 46 MPG. Using the advice of many of you, I'm finding it easier and easier to get the hang of driving a hybrid - my thanks!! 2 coach81 and acdii reacted to this

I had an 09 Camry Hybrid, the 2010 s a much better car all around, thats why I mentioned the Avalon, as the Camry is a step down from the new Fusion. coach81 Report post Posted January 16, 2013 OK.. so.. now that I've had my FFH a few days... I can honestly say.. the Altima simply cannot compare.. it would have been a HUGE mistake to go with it over my car... So far.. great gas mileage, fantastic technology, the most fun I've ever had driving, and the looks speak for themselves!!! 1 jeff_h reacted to this
