BIRDVERT92 Report post Posted September 28, 2010 I have a 2010 I4 SE Fusion. 26k on the clock. For some time now I have had a faint rattle/vibration noise under the car towards the rear. I have had it up in the air a couple times, and it appears that the long heat shield that runs through the tunnel and back towards the muffler is the culprit. There is a long section that doesn't have any attach points, and i can flick it and it sounds like a drum and is real similiar to the noise that I hear. It usually happens at about 40 miles an hour and under a partial load. Has anyone else had this noise on there 2010 fusion. I have stuck some pieces of rubber under it in a couple places and seems to muffle the noise some, but things move around, and the noise comes back. Lone Wolff Report post Posted December 3, 2010 Haven't had it on my Fusion, but my wife's 99 Escort had 2 or 3 that rattled pretty bad once one of the mounting points had rusted through.
