Oldguy16 Report post Posted June 10, 2010 This may sound like a dumb question to most people here but I was wondering if anyone has an answer for me. I want to get an HID kit for my car, and a friend of mine keeps telling me that to make HID's look nice you need difference housing. I've put HID's in my other friend's car with stock housing and it looks fine, anybody know that answer? Also, are projector lights really any better than normal headlights? Hi mr_maenpaa, your pics on your profile are really too small to make anything out from them. Can you do something to make them larger?
whoathere Report post Posted June 11, 2010 Projector housings are better at projecting the light, and focusing it in one area, like the road, ahead of the vehicle. In other types of housings, like the normal reflective ones, the light is scattered. You still have ALOT of light, it just is being reflected in every which direction. Typically in a projector, you don't piss off other drivers, relflective housings may because light could be reflected up. Projectors have the sharp cut off which protects oncoming drivers from being blinded. Trust me, at the cost of HID's these days, the ease of installation, everyone should have them. I've had 3 sets in 3 consecutive cars. Once you go to HID, you will not go back to halogen, the difference is that big. PS, it's hard to capture it in a picture, it's just something you have to see.
