Mine shipped on the 8th or 9th and has been sitting at Jessyup since this weekend. It is, in theory, scheduled for delivery tomorrow. It would be nice to have it for the weekend, but I have my doubts.

btw .. this is Ourisman.

The car showed at my dealer last night and was delivered to me today. Nice car, but, due to Late Friday DC area traffic, decided on a short Route 1 loop. Quiet, decent power, comfortable. Will take a longer lunch drive tomorrow. It sat at Jessup for about 5 days with one in local transit.

I don't think that the transit time from Hermosillo was that bad. Car cars are routed any number of times to reach the right ramp/location.

My 502A + Remote Start, Brilliant Silver FFH "story" from Hermosillo to Seattle:

(Ordered 2/26/09, confirmed order 3/6/09, VIN on 4/3/09, Production 4/22/09)

Shipped from factory 4/29, crossed border 5/2, through AZ, NM, TX, OK, KS (5/4), NE, IA, IL (5/8), WI, MN, ND (5/13), MT, ID, WA, arriving in Seattle 5/14, that's 1 Mexican state and 14 US states! Trucked to dealer on 5/18, left rear door hit by employee in another car within 3 hours, so now waiting for new door from CA. Hope to have it by next Friday 5/29.

If it looks "factory", I'll take it, otherwise the dealer will order me another one. Here's hoping!

That is awful about the door! I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure the new door will be a perfect match. But I would just ask to make sure that they won't record it on CARFAX that the car was dented and door replaced. I wouldn't want a new car with a accident on the CARFAX report from before you took delivery. I can just hear the future conversation now... "I'd like to trade in my 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid for a 2017 Ford Hydrogen Plugin..." "Well sir, your trade in will $5,000 due to the accident shown on CARFAX." "But you dealership was the accident...." Anyways, I'd ask.

Your delivery dates look real close to mine.

Ordered 3/8/2009. Order Confirmed 3/11/2009. VIN assigned 4/2/2009. Built 4/29/2009. Arrived at train depot in Kent, WA, 5/15/2009. Delivered to dealers lot in Puyallup, WA, (and me) 5/21/2009.

It will be the door skin, probably not a whole new door. If that is the case, there will be paint work and any person in the auto industry will be able to see the paint work. If it were me, I would pass on that one and wait for a repair free car. $32K+ is too much money for that. Plus the dealer will sell it to someone else.

Part of me would want them to order another and part would be too impatient, but i would have to ask for another car, unless they are willing to sell the car as damaged and "used" because if they sell it to another party that is how they are supposed to sell it.

Replacing parts on a new car by the dealer does not make the car used. The dealer has no obligation to tell the customer that something has been repaired on a new car. It will be sold as a new car.

Always take a good look at any car that you buy, even new cars. 20/20 or one of those type shows did a story about new cars with repairs. It doesn't happen a lot, but it does happen.
