bryanb Report post Posted May 18 Looking at a 2016 Fusion Hybrid S. 61K miles. A good deal? Looks clean. Lower end model than my 2010 SE, but has all the basics. Missing the sat-nav, sunroof, leather, higher end stereo fog lights, etc. 61K is low miles, so i would assume lightly used. Looks like its had 3 local owners. Curious if what i might be looking at as far as problems, that might have caused old owner to trade in. thanks.
bryanb Report post Posted May 20 Bump, if anyone can please offer any notes. Drove it 'around the block' today. Seems to make some sort of noise when the steering is turned at low speeds, like make a steering motor? Not sure how to describe it. Does the 2016 have electric power steering? ANd ICE motor, does sound very loud compared to my 2010. Real growl-y. Can't tell if there's a bearing noise at moderate speeds, but I'd think a wheel bearing would be an odd thing to go out at 61K. I would take it to a shop and have it inspected for $50-$100. They'll find stuff that you won't find by just driving it around.

It was in fact the passenger side wheel bearing. and they replaced it free of charge since I just bought the car from them (7 day warranty, and I reported on day 6). Also fixed the shifter that wouldn't move to L. Only sound now, is with the ICE on and accelerating a bit of a whistle. I suspect that is from the air intake or something. Sky14FFH Report post Posted July 19 Yeesh 7 day warranty is a short one. They should have taken care of this before you bought it. Whistle could be from the pcv or hopefully not a crack in the intake.
