Wireless Android Auto?

Recommended Posts

My prior 2015 FFH had no provision for Android Auto, but I understand that my current 2017 FFH does. I'd like to explore using it with my Samsung S22 phone. And I'd like to have my phone connect without a wire or cable. What's the best way to do that?

If you have Sync 3, you need a cable. If you have Sync 4, it supports wireless.

How do I find out if my 2017 FFH has Sync 3 or 4?

Is there an aftermarket solution that allows Sync 3 to support wireless Android Auto?

Yesterday I ordered "Wireless Android Auto Dongle - Connects Automatically to Android Auto" from Amazon. Supposed to arrive in about a week. I'll let you know what happens after it arrives.

It arrived today and I successfully installed it, by following the instructions in their app I downloaded to my phone. Wireless aside, this is the first time I've used Android Auto and it's not doing what I thought it would do. Instead of discussing that here, I'll find an Android Auto forum for that.

If it sort of took over everything, then that's why I don't use it.  His description of what it does sort of turned me away from it.
