Brent.houp@gmail.com Report post Posted September 15, 2022 I'm curious, how long have your hybrid batteries lasted? What is the average lifespan/milage I should expect from a 2015? 2 mwr and JAM7 reacted to this
MeeLee Report post Posted September 17, 2022 Depends on how much you use them. Theoretically, they should retain 75% of range before 10 years or 100k miles whatever comes first. Mine is at 50% range at 105k miles (issues started at 94k miles with 30% reduction). The main issue apparently is, don't run the ac for prolonged amount of time with the car not running! 1 JAM7 reacted to this
Waldo Report post Posted September 19, 2022 The battery will last as long as every other part of the car.

Last as long as the steering wheel, etc? Edited September 20, 2022 by mwr 1 JAM7 reacted to this

The steering wheel in my 2014 actually has some issues with the leather, it's become quite rough on the left side. The battery on the other hand, is perfectly fine. 1 JAM7 reacted to this

For the 2013 and newer? Please post some links to said threads. But the design life of every part on every Ford is 150K miles, so I still stand behind that the battery will last as long as everything else. MeeLee Report post Posted November 8, 2022 (edited) Perhaps experience. My 2019 ffh barely has electric performance left. It barely does 3 to 5 blocks max on electricity. The rest of the car is practically new. So, no, the battery doesn't seem to like either long highway rides or draining it till below empty. I'm fairly sure out of the 200 something cells at least 100 are bad. Another thing, the newer (i think post 2017) models can have the electric motor run at above 65mph, which drains and wears the battery real fast. hal9000 Report post Posted November 12, 2022 (edited) So I'm still learning about my 14 se, and checking/understanding the battery condition is one of the things I'm struggling with. The dashboard battery indicator sure seems to show the battery charging and draining faster than I would expect, and it seems to drop by about 20-25% overnight. But will charge back to where it started after just a couple stops. Is this typical? To me it seems to indicate a potential voltage drop. Are there any on-board tools for checking battery condition? I'm thinking about wiring a voltmeter in to monitor the hybrid battery. Whats the acceptable operating voltage range? With my 2015 FFH, the dashboard battery indicator shows the battery charging and draining fast and often, so I'm thinking what you're seeing is probably normal. About the overnight drain, I haven't noticed that but possibly because I don't check for that. FYI, I bought my car new 8 years ago and it now has 97K miles. ethermion Report post Posted November 25, 2022 We have one of the 1st 2nd generation FFH. Picked it up Christmas Eve, 2012. Special ordered in September, Ford delayed due to faulty body panel stamping dies, requiring Ford to rent some mega jumbo Russian cargo plane to fly replacements to Hermosillo. It was worth the wait. Awesome car. 131,392 miles. Battery is just fine. 1 JAM7 reacted to this
MeeLee Report post Posted December 9, 2022 Apparently the biggest drain on the battery is the 12v battery. You should replace it with a low capacity (<50Ah battery), as soon as possible.

It does when the battery needs replacing, but on my 2019 model there is an indicator that shows battery charge voltage. Nominal voltage is 2 of 3 lines (~23kW est). Brand new is 3 out of 3 lines (~30kW est). After ~120k miles: 1 out of 3 lines (~20kW est).
