mwr Report post Posted December 1, 2020 I just installed the FordPass app on my phone. From what I can see, it really doesn't do much of anything. Is that because my car is a 2015, or am I missing something in the app?
ElectricFan69 Report post Posted January 19, 2021 Your vehicle has to have Ford Pass connect, per the app. The fact it's a '15 may or may not be the crucial factor, as optional car features are involved, and your car may not have them. Given that 'connected car' thing is of recent emphasis in Ford, the feature may indeed be only for the last model year or 2 - mentions of 'phone unlock' is a recent feature, and I don't recall such a thing being available when we got our '16. Waldo Report post Posted January 20, 2021 To really get all the features of Ford Pass, your car needs to have a modem. Your 2015 Fusion does not have a modem.
dogo88 Report post Posted January 20, 2021 Found this when searching for which Fusions FordPass works on: Vehicles equipped with FordPass Connect: FordPass Connect is an optional feature on select 2017 and newer model year vehicles and includes service for five years from the vehicle sale date as recorded by the dealer. Thanks. that pretty much says it about my 2015 FFH.
murphy Report post Posted January 20, 2021 Just to make this topic complete, the Energi from 2013 on does have a data modem. It was delivered with a 2G modem. It was upgraded to a 3G modem just before AT&T shut down 2G service.
Recce93 Report post Posted July 17, 2021 Got the 3G upgrade when LTE was already commonplace, can't wait till the 3G network is shut down on December 31, 2022. But, even with the modem, still no joy on being able to do anything in the FordPass app, well, nothing good anyway.
