bschiek Report post Posted December 16, 2018 My daughter recently purchased a 2010 FFH. Great car and a great deal ($3,650 with 150,000 miles and some cosmetic paint damage). I am an avid shade tree mechanic and enjoy learning about different vehicles. I'm in the process of performing the 150K mile maintenance and am having trouble finding out how to drain and replace the hybrid system coolant. I've purchased the AllDataDIY subscription for this vehicle but it does not go into details on how to perform this maintenance action. Is it as simple as draining the hybrid drive radiator and poring in the new coolant into the hybrid drive coolant reservoir? Thanks! jchoffman12345 Report post Posted February 20, 2021 Bruce, I was trolling for something else and found your post. I have AllDatadiy and the instructions cannot be found. What I did was remove the plastic pans from the bottom of the engine and bumper. You can follow the hose from the pump to the radiator and remove it. I used the hose to flush the system and connected the hose back up. I used 100% strength coolant and put in enough to fill it to the 50/50, then topped off with distilled water. There is a bleed screw on the front of the power inverter. I could not find it. You will need to burp the system. I squeezed the hose a few times and kept an eye on the fluid level. After one drive cycle I was able to top off the system. Success. Best of luck with the process.
anotherfusionowner Report post Posted August 16, 2021 (edited) Just to add to the previous reply. You have 2 coolant reservoirs. One for the engine and one for the mecs. The FFH takes a speciality coolant. You run the risk of damaging the coolant system if you use anything else. You can buy it from ford and I think I've seen it on amazon as well. I included some info from my chilton library on the process. I personally had it done at the dealership. It was only $169 for both reservoirs and the coolant.
