stlouisgeorge Report post Posted January 26, 2017 (edited) How do I make this guage go right or left? What does the left icon indicate? I tried slipping to the next lane without a turn signal (viiiibbraaatttionnn..) and the "needle" didn't seem to move. Discuss.. Timewellspent Report post Posted January 26, 2017 (edited) Just a guess, but it is probably just a set time. When you start driving it is by the steering wheel and the longer you drive without stopping it moves to the right. When it gets towards the coffee cup it probably alerts you to stop and take a break. Again just a guess but probably meant only for long road trips? Edit: After looking online a bit, it looks like if you keep drifting across the line too much over a period of time it moves towards the coffee cup and then alerts you to take a break. stlouisgeorge Report post Posted January 28, 2017 I have no idea how to get back to that screen. Had my car one month now. Still find a new display everyday. Took me a two weeks to find the display on SYNC3 to change my accent lights (now orange). Tonight I was driving home tonight in heavy traffic. I was fidgeting with my iPhone a couple of times and the Coffee Cup came up twice. I still have no idea what the button overhead to the right of the driver light switch does (turn off the "puddle lamp"? Most complicated thing I have ever owned. Most complicated thing I have ever owned. One of the overhead buttons determines whether or not the overhead lights come on when a door is opened. In my 2013 if the button is glowing the lights will not turn on when a door is opened. Texasota Report post Posted January 28, 2017 The owner's manual likely explains how to operate the controls and navigate the screens.
stlouisgeorge Report post Posted January 28, 2017 My apologies. RTFM.I just like to post stuff to hear people talk about sleeping patterns I guess.. 2017 FFH Manual page 204 The status bar will travel from left to right as the calculated alertness level decreases. As the rest icon is approached the color turns from green to yellow to red. The yellow position indicates the first warning is active and the red position indicates the second warning is active. 1 Frank F reacted to this

Did you do as I suggested and go thru the OM with the car running and look at each screen? I spent almost 2 hours with my first hybrid doing that and it made all the difference in the world. This is the Driver Alert for a rest stop. I have no idea on setting it, but I don't need the car telling me to pull over for coffee 5 minutes after I just got in it either. It's off. You have to do it several times within a relatively short time frame. The needle will then start moving to the right. After that, if some time passes without any lane slips, it will gradually move back to the left.I saw this happen when I had just got the car and wanted to see how well the lane departure feature worked. So I went like 'oh, look, the car steers itself back into the lane! How cool! Let's try that again. Hey, it's really working! How cool is that? Let's do that one more time.', and so on. Very soon the driver fatigue alert popped up. Edited March 13, 2017 by Vlad Soare
