rjrfusion Report post Posted January 23, 2017 Just got the platinum hybrid after having a Passat Wagen which I loved but needed too much work ($$) at 10 years old. Think I got a good deal with list at $38+K. Paid $32 with taxes, etc... not including trade in. Completely loaded. With 400 miles on it I got 48mpg going to and from long island to NJ this weekend. Averaging 36 right now in all city driving. Compare that to 12-15 in the Passat 4 cal. turbo. Enjoying the car after 2 weeks, no issues as of yet:) 3 bdginmo, Frank F and SteveB_TX reacted to this
rjrfusion Report post Posted January 24, 2017 Like the "my ford" app but wish it had more content on the fuel. Shows the amount remaining in the tank but nothing on mpg usage, etc.. needs to expand on the info
stlouisgeorge Report post Posted February 10, 2017 I suggest opening a fuelly.com account to micro-manage the fuel stats. You can see my profile below. The ultimate is the "600 mile club" (on one tank). I am not there yet. I like the feeling of a warm steering wheel and interior when I get in my car in the morning (not good for gas mileage to warm up the car in remotely, but what the heck -- it's a platinum!). lewisb01 Report post Posted February 10, 2017 How the heck did you get a Plat for that cheap after taxes?? was it considered used with 400 miles on it?
rjrfusion Report post Posted February 11, 2017 I was in the right place at the right time I guess. I actually got it with 55 miles on it. The 400 was my mileage when I made my post. Love the car. Wanted the electric version but trunk did not fit my son's hockey bag. Light colored Leather gets a bit dirty from the wet dog though:) My one question is mileage. Not doing to well in the city - 22 to 25 right now with 800 miles on it. When I say city I'm mean driving +- 2 miles on a trip with constant stopping and going (more stopping than going). From one trip down the Jersey Shore and back it brought this months average to 32.2mpg. My break regen is around 98% most of the time and i coast to traffic lights/stops. Haven't done the heated steering wheel yet but love the heated seats. I will do the fuelly.com thing, thank you.
