4 year Ownership Reports - 2013 FFH

It has been 4 years now and I'm still a very happy camper. Up to today, the last 12 months have seen one oil change, the first set of new tires at 41K miles and washing & cleaning. Mileage has averaged 43.8 mpg and all aspects of the vehicle are operating better than new.

My FFH is at my local Ford dealer today. I couldn't get the car registered for 2017 until corrective action was taken on a recall, so the dealer is performing all the updates that have occurred for the past two years. They are also changing the cabin filter. The dealer drove me to work after I dropped the Fusion off and will pick me up late this afternoon.

No regrets.

It's great to own a car 4 years with no regrets!! I just passed the third anniversary of owning my 2013, but I guess I'll have to dig up the 3 year/2013 thread to post my thoughts. :)

So that's a thing now? The DMV refuses to issue a tag if there are outstanding recall items?

In California, it appears that only the recalls that may involve emissions raise a red flag with the DMV. So far, my FFH seems to run and feel the same after all the updates.

Just a couple of months shy of 4 years with my 2013, and all is great. I replaced the original tires at 57K miles, I still have the original brakes as well. No repairs done so far, only a software update in August of 2013, and a couple of recall items. I still have every service receipt, and it's only been oil changes, tire rotation, and an adjustment to SYCN in the first year. My overall average is 43.5mpg, but I had a number of poor fill-ups at the beginning when I wasn't driving as hybrid-efficiently as I should; and mpgs have slipped a bit in the last few months as well, but still remaining in the 40's each fill-up. Absolutely no regrets whatsoever - have ordered a 2017 Platinum trim, should be delivered early next year.

I got mine in June'13. To be honest, I never thought I would as satisfied as I still am with the car. Zero problems so far. My average is 45.2 MPG.

I have been doing oil changes and tire rotations plus any needed recalls. 43K total mileage so far.

I love it like the first day!

 

Besides replacing the tires, do you guys can think about anything I would need to take care of soon?

We have a 2012 Escape Hybrid that we've had for 5.5 years with 95k miles and the only semi-non-maintenance repair was an O2 sensor, but even those fail like clockwork on most vehicles it seems. We have had no regrets with that vehicle. Our other vehicle is a 2015 Fusion Energi so we are obviously big fans of EV vehicles. We are buying a 2017 Explorer tomorrow and, to be honest, I'm more worried about the reliability of the EcoBoost engine than I am with the powertrain in these hybrid vehicles.

One of my daughters has my 2013 now. It has about 110,000 miles, with no major mechanical problems since the FCIM went out early on. Breaks are still original, and she's happy with it.

Great reports! Hopefully I'll have this kind of success with my 1 month old FFH. BTW I have a 4 year old Ford Escape AWD Titanium with the 2.0L ecoboost. No problems so far with 68,000 miles.

My 2013 Fusion Hybrid Titanium served me well. I sold it two weeks ago as I upgraded to an MKZ. I never had any issues with the car and really enjoyed all the technology it came with and of course, the great gas mileage. That I enjoyed the car so much played a big part in sticking with the same company.

 

After 10 or 11 years with a Hybrid (Camry Hybrid before the Fusion) I decided to go in a different direction this time and got the 400 HP MKZ 3.0 AWD. The MPGs will be an adjustment, but so far I am enjoying the change, although I must admit I cringe when driving in the inner city with lots of traffic lights and the MKZ sits there with the engine running at red lights. But my commute to work is mostly highway, so that helps. I am enjoying the huge trunk and the easy power when navigating the Houston highways.

 

Tech-wise, there aren't that many differences between the 2013 Fusion and the 2017 MKZ. Just a little more refined technology, lots of power options, and an incredibly smooth and quiet ride.

 

Ford got it right with the 2013 Fusion Hybrid.

You went with the 3.0L EcoBoost...nice! That thing is a beast. We went with the 2017 Ford Explorer with the 3.5L EcoBoost. The power out of these EcoBoost engines is phenomenal. I still have my 2015 FFE to offset the mpg from the Explorer though :)
