marco_er Report post Posted June 6, 2016 Last Friday my wife was driving her FFH 2011 and after fully stopping the car, she shifted to Reverse (from Drive) she said the car made a loud noise (like when mis-shifting in a stick gearbox). After that the car drove normally back home (about 3km) in both reverse and drive. When she parked at home the shifter wouldn’t go to “P”, after some time trying to shift to “P” without luck (the car will shift to all other gears) she switched-off in N. Obviously the key can’t be removed and the car won’t start now. At this moment the shifter will move between gear with the exception of Park and the car doesn’t start in anyone. Any guess what can be happening?
marco_er Report post Posted June 10, 2016 An update: I call the dealer and they send a technician which didn’t help, after that we tow it to the dealer. On Tuesday afternoon they recharged the 12v battery which was fully depleted by the car switch remaining on, and they couldn’t find the problem at first sight. They say on Wednesday afternoon they were going to diagnose the car and it started normally and has been driving fine since (for about 30km). The problem is not present anymore, there are no codes or anything that indicates what was happening. They will give me back the car tomorrow morning. Hope the problem is gone forever. lolder Report post Posted June 11, 2016 I would also change your 12 vdc battery even if the present one has been recharged. A deep discharge is very bad for them and a lot of strange things can happen due to the 12 vdc battery. A test of the battery that shows it "good" is not enough. If this 2011 car has not had a battery since new, I suggest you change it. I don't advocate this for non-hybrid cars but it has proven to be useful for the Ford hybrids, particularly the 2010-12 models.
