Akarua Report post Posted May 5, 2016 Does anyone have any experience cleaning the engine bay beyond a wipe with a wet towel? I wipe down the plastic covers every now and then, but the rest of the engine hasn't been cleaned since getting the car. Aside from cover the electrical and HV components (the majority of the right side) with a plastic bag, anything else that needs to be done? My main concern is the plastic cover at the bottom of the engine, would that allow for enough water drainage?
FernMTL Report post Posted May 5, 2016 Here's how I do it: Park the car in a way that the sun blast the engine bay. Use a regular water hose and gun (not high pressure machine). Shoot all the way around to get the most salt off. I don't shoot the engine/electric side. Let it dry in the sun and wipe off as most water as you can. Never had a problem so far and I've done it four times on the Hybrid. 1 Akarua reacted to this
