2016 FFH SE problems with filling gas tank - cutoff?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Did anyone face problems filling up a gas in 2016 FFH?

I tried 3 different pumps (costco, chevron, shell) and every time found that the fuel dispenser (Nozzle) pops out and cuts off gas. If I keep it pressed (just the nozzle pressed to stay inside without touching the lever) it works fine. When asked the dealer he said I am doing something wrong. But I own Honda Civic for 6 years now and I can fill the gas easily in my Civic.

Please help.

Regards.

I have not heard of anyone experiencing this problem. Can you post a picture of the fuel dispenser as you have it inserted into the fuel inlet? There is a plastic door at the opening of inlet pipe and you must fully insert (gently) the nozzle beyond that little plastic door. You are doing that, right? Assuming you have the nozzle properly inserted beyond that little door I don't see how the pump handle/nozzle could pop out of the fuel inlet unless you have some sort of an unusual manufacturing defect.

If you still have problems ask your service adviser to ride with you to the nearest gas station and demonstrate your problem. A good service department will be happy to do that for you.

Maybe I am reading the OPs post wrong but it sounds to me like he is saying that if he does not hold the entire handle/nozzle while refueling, then it pops out of the fuel inlet pipe and presumably would fall on the ground. The thread you linked to is describing a problem where the lock lever on the fuel pump handle will not stay engaged while refueling.

Today I tried it once again at costco and it worked. It did not pop out. Hope it works fine now on.
