joefusion Report post Posted November 8, 2007 Hello All. I am hoping someone can help me resolve this issue I have with my Fusion. Both auxiliary power outlets do not allow my cell phone charger to operate properly. I have tried both repeatedly and they will start to work then stop or not work at all. I have sort of ruled out the charging device as it is relatively new, purchased after the car was, and it is a very standard looking charger. The insides of the Fusion power outlets however differ slightly from any I have seen before, the hot lead in the middle is raised and round shaped. Thanks for your advice and help. 2007 Ford Fusion SEI4Automatic Transmission
FusionFanatic Report post Posted December 8, 2007 ruling out the charger or the car as the cause is simple... try it in a different car :finger: the charger is much more likely to be the problem, not your power outlets. the power outlets in the Fusion will function the same on any other car. there's no electronics involved, it's just a direct ~12vdc feed (from the fuse box). :shift:

Thanks for your advice and help. 2007 Ford Fusion SEI4Automatic TransmissionI have discovered that an older Nokia I had would stop charging very shortly after plugging it in, that was using the charger from my wife's newer Nokia. It worked fine using my original charger, same output voltage. It would start to work, then stop like you describe. FWIW.
kevlm Report post Posted July 4, 2008 Just noticed the same thing happens with my 2008 SE V6 with 9500 miles. Thought my LG charger was bad so I returned it to Verizon. The new charger did the same thing so I tried it in my work truck and my wife's car. It worked fine in both of those. I'll have the dealer check out the aux. outlet next visit.
