Simon Da Osam Paul Report post Posted November 19, 2015 Guys, I own 2015 Mondeo Hybrid (well, company car). It's the UK spec Fusion hybrid, and Fusions in Europe and other places in the world are marketed as Mondeo. In addition, Mondeo Hybrid is THE SAME as Fusion Hybrid. same gauges, etc. When I ordered it, I chose the Sony Audio system with 12 speaker system (addition to Titanium-X pack, which includes Adaptive LED lights). I drive it for 1 month now, and still trying to understand this: When I look at the brochures, it is easy to find the location of the SubWoofer in Hatchback and Estate versions - rear right side in the boot (trunk). However, it is not the case in Hybrid. Is it a subwoofer bar or any other placement? When balance/fader is set to exact centre, it looks like that sound comes straight from the front (surround is ON). I have to set it to 3 "clicks" to rear in order it to sound from very centre of the car. Is this correct behaviour? Addition questions regarding dashboard/speedometer section. What is the difference between Empower and Engage? In Engage, as I understand, Blue gauge shows the usage of the electric motor. when it is fully filled - ICE kicks in. however, ICE kicks in even blue gauge is at ~80%. How to improve that? Also - in Empower, the Blue gauge has different heights (changing). What's the purpose of that? thanks for answers! :)

Engage shows the ICE & EV power demand separately. Empower also adds the EV threshold box. The hybrid version of the car is not designed to drive in EV mode for extended periods of time. The Energi is. Even if your HVB icon is full, the ICE will still come on. The ICE is most efficient under a heavier load, such as acceleration, so use it then. The changing height reflects a changing threshold depending on how charged the HVB is. Less charge, less EV power available.

You will notice as the blue box starts to collapse you are getting closer and closer to the point there the ICE will turn on and this is very useful for feathering the gas pedal so that you can glide on EV longer. I find this the most useful display for learning how the FFH operates and improving MPG. FernMTL Report post Posted November 24, 2015 (edited) I think it's a 12 speaker system without a subwoofer. 1 speaker and a tweeter in each door, one speaker in the center of your dash and three on the backglass panel. Total of twelve. Might be wrong, but I think the sub is in the Focus Sony system, not the Fusion. Edited November 24, 2015 by FernMTL
