  1. FFH! :shift: I like the looks better, and the car will "look" like a newer FFH for many more years (I hope). Nothing against the MMH...I just prefer the FFH. Just bought our FFH last week...the dealers are itching to sell due to the 2011s arriving soon. There are some changes to the 2011s, but I can live with the 2010 options...and enjoyed the huge discount.
  2. I am uncertain, as I don't have the built in GPS. But altitude is uncommon in Vehicle GPS's. Some Garmin/Magellan/etc vehicle GPSs however, have that feature. But not all.
  3. I agree w/ Dan some. But there may be some times when you have to accelerate quickly too. No loud noises here...but I don't think I've quite gone to full throttle yet either.
  4. The car is great. I love it so far! I am really impressed with the fit and finish, how smooth she rides and how quite it all is. I really am impressed with the tech and quality. She has a lot of power and "git-up" so that was great. Amazing for such a small engine IMHO. No gripes at all, but I was surprised to see how little the car enters EV mode. I thought it would be more, but maybe it's helping all the time more than I am realizing. I have read the manual and have changed the driver info screens a lot. I prefer the efficiency graphs more than the leaves. My inital MPG was lower than expected, but it was almost all hwy miles. Do you have to drive like a Granny for get high-30s MPG? I traded in a 99 Pontiac with 97k+ miles. She was well cared for and I got the trade in for Blue Book value. They sold me the FFH for invoice...so it was a good deal. Love the car...pics to follow (if it lets me resize them). Buster
  5. Made the final arrangements today, did the numbers "game" with the dealer and think we got a pretty good deal on the car. A White FFH with moon & tune. Really excited to go pick it up tomorrow! Got a great deal on the trade in as well. Looking forward to some good Hybrid miles! Buster
  6. Thanks Mort, yep...seen them all. Unfortunately all the base models in the Vegas area are dark color. Not sure if I should go that way with the tremendous heat here.

  8. The dealer had no base models, and was eager to get the 4 "higher end" models off his lot. They seemed a little receptive to looking for a base model for us...but not overly so. I just called the dealer and am waiting to hear back. I told him to please begin to search for a White Base model FFH, and if one was to be found, we would be willing to work with them. There are a few base models at another dealer here in town, but I don't know about the colors they have. I know color is a silly thing, but hey, I'm paying $25k+...I want the color I want. Besides, a gray or black car here in Vegas...no thanks!
  9. Well, it was pretty nice! I loved the fit and finish, quality, and ride. For a daily driver sedan it seemed pretty good, with quite a bit of power and acceleration. Tried it around town, and then some on the highway too. I think it was quicker and quieter than my current 1999 daily driver V6. We test drove a White FFH that was basically "loaded." it was very nice with the tan leather and moonroof...but it was just too far out of our price-range. We really need a base model. Walked in with the invoice numbers, but the dealer only had 4 FFH, and none were base models. The dealer wasn't too pushy, but before you knew it, he was offering some pretty low prices. We thanked him and got up to go when the manager came over. He decided to offer us the car AT invoice!, but it was still too much for us ($28,xxx before taxes). As we got to our car and loaded up the kids, he came out AGAIN and offered the car a few hundred BELOW invoice...wow. We still walked, feeling kinda low...but it was still out of our range. Guess a Saturday on the last day of the month they are REALLY willing to move a car. If they had a base model, at invoice, we would have bought it. Great car, loved driving it. No 'negatives' noted at all really other than the sound it made at idle...which varied between nothing and a weird "whirr" for the A/C going. Maybe we can make it happen soon, but when do the 2011s hit the lots?
  10. So do you have to "get" or apply for this X-plan...or can you just walk in and shoot for that? Thanks for the great info guys!
  11. Hello. Let me start off by saying that you guys have a nice forum. I have been reading it for a few weeks. I am a big fan of forums and think that they generate a lot of good info and ideas. I will also say that I am NOT a Ford guy, but love and believe in American cars. All my other cars are Chevy's and a Pontiac. But I will have to admit, I have been seriously looking at FFH's these past few weeks. I cannot believe what a nice looking car Ford built, and the reviews and test drives speak volumes of how great this car really is. I am impressed and may even become a Ford guy someday. I need to go do a test drive. The pricing on this Hybrid also really blows me away. For just a few grand more, it can be purchased. The prices are equal or better than some of the other new non-hybrid cars that I thought were getting good gas mileage. Here's my first question. No 0% APR on the FFH, why? Also, are the dealers willing to negotiate or "haggle" a little on the price? Did you pay sticker, or is it reasonable to expect the dealer to come down a little on the price like most cars these days? Thanks. I look forward to reading and learning more...any maybe soon joining the Hybrid Club. (My Pontiac daily driver is approaching 99,000 miles, and my new job involves 75% hwy driving, ~80 miles total a day)
