Now that's much nicer, Dave! I like my new 2010 Fusion but I wish Ford had kept the chrome around the tail lamps. My hybrid model has the chrome strip under the center mounted third brake lamp but it's too short...it looks lost and out of place. To help dress it up a little I, too, am using a chrome license plate frame. Along with the longer chrome strip molding and the chrome tail lamps, the rear end of the previous years Fusion models (such as yours) clearly looks more stylish.

I wrote here awhile back when you first reported your complaint and I gave my non-engineering opinion that your problems could be due to a faulty computer module. Since then I've continued to read along only to learn Ford service techs have been busy testing and ruling out many possibilities and yet your car is still plagued with what some have called gremlins and I have called demons. First of all I have to suggest you ignore certain individuals, in particular the non-hybrid guy with the old Fusion who seems to have reading comprehension issues. Upon investing thirty grand on a problem-plagued new car, you have every right to be upset and your writing is (hopefully) therapeutic so don't change your style. Its good to vent. Secondly, I watched your videos and the second one especially illustrates your contention, proving your car is seriously ill. Thirdly, I agree with you and don't understand why Ford hasn't simply thrown the towel in by now and replaced your FFH permanently with a brand new one! Let them take your old one back to Michigan or Hermosillo or wherever they want to and find out what went wrong, fix it and then give it to a Ford executive to drive for a year or two. It would be a great public relations/good will gesture. The dealership's service techs and you could all go out together and celebrate with a nice meal. A win-win for everyone! Another happy ending...oh wait, I think I was dreaming again! Well, some dreams do come true...don't they? PS: regarding your 2nd video, I was glad to hear the "70's on 7" Sirius channel playing in the background...I enjoy that channel, too. Good Luck with your car. One way or another, I hope all of your problems are soon resolved.

Very nice, Desert Fusion. Car looks sharp! I personally like the way the front-end looks, but that's because I get off on chrome!

When I read your initial story I had no idea that you had already addressed your complaints with your dealer's service department. That being the case, I would have to hope that they already checked and ruled out a defective computer module as being the culprit so I stand corrected in what I thought might have been the cause behind all of your electrical problems. You say you've been struggling with Ford for 4 1/2 months? What a nightmare! You certainly have a lot more patience than I do. By now I would have driven it into their showroom through the largest plate glass window they have, blamed it on the faulty brakes and then thrown the keys at the owner! A more rational suggestion is this one: NJ has a lemon law which gives the manufacturer three (3) chances to repair the car to your full satisfaction. After that you can begin action against them under the lemon laws of the state. It takes a little while but eventually they are ordered to buy the vehicle back with full restitution to you. Dan gives excellent advice...contact a lawyer who specializes in Virginia lemon law litigation. Bring him all your paperwork and let him get started in getting that demon possessed vehicle out of your life.

Hey there Oldschool1962... please take a deep breath and calm down. The next best advice I can give you is to drop your car off at your dealer's service dept. ASAP. I'm not a technician but I've read enough about this car to strongly suspect your problems stem from a defective "smart junction box". It is your Fusion's primary computer brain and its purpose is to make sure all of the vehicle's electronics work as intended in harmony. From your description, it sounds like the smart junction box is malfunctioning. Once the technician confirms this, all he has to do is switch out the SMJ box with a new one. I would feel frustrated too if it happened to mine but unfortunately these things do happen in today's computer dependent world we live in. The good news is that, thankfully, everything is covered under warranty! Good luck to you and please make sure you write back and let us know how you made out.

Fusion Sport Spoiler Install on Hybrid - Gorgeous!
Blue Oval replied to Zacher's topic in General Discussion
I agree with you, Fuze-ion, regarding the trunk mounted spoiler. I personally think the "Lip Spoiler" looks cleaner. I already located one on eBay and will eventually order it. It is made for the 2010 Ford Fusion and comes already painted, guaranteed to match any factory color desired. Supposedly it can be installed without any drilling. Besides the flush appearance of it, I especially like that it won't be dripping water from it after each car wash, requiring me to constantly dry the water marks. It costs around $155 plus shipping. It is sold by "Sportwing, Inc." and it can be ordered on eBay. (If you go on eBay you will also see that Sportwing offers other accessories for the Ford Fusion as well.) Below is a photo of the available spoiler mounted on a silver Fusion. -
WOW, the newly chromed rims look fantastic! What a huge difference from the standard painted rims. (I don't understand why Ford doesn't offer them on the car. Call me old fashion, but today's cars desperately need more chrome trim to help make them stand out from all that monotone paint.) Now I need to locate someone in New Jersey who can chrome mine, too. I'm convinced my 2010 FFH in white platinum will look much better, too. Thanks for posting the suggestion and the photo.
