  1. And baseball players get paid millions of dollars to hit the ball 30% of the time. I am not sure what your point is. Besides, that statistic does not make non-lawyers any more qualified to give legal advice. If it did come to a civil lawsuit, you don't have to "prove" anything, just show that it is more likely than not that the dealer is screwing you. Damages can include loss of enjoyment of the vehicle in addition to losses related to fuel efficiency and increases in taxes and licensing fees that have occurred in some states since last month.
  2. I am not sure why you think that would be perfectly legal. It is clearly a breach of contract. I asked my wife about it and she is a lawyer.
  3. I think Ford would be none too happy as they make the dealer go through the whole verification process in order to avoid this kind of practice. I am pretty sure you would also have grounds to sue them over breach of contract.
  4. I want to thank everyone for all the information that you shared on these forums. I was able to convince a dealer to sell me their Fusion Hybrid from their stock at the X-plan rate. It has white exterior and light stone interior, which wasn't my first choice, but I wanted to make sure I would get the car. I totally completed the purchase of the car which had a VIN number and everything. They even sold it with no extra charge for the tri-coat. As an added bonus, taxes in California (I live in OC) are going up on April 1, so I saved a few bucks on that as well. They seemed so eager to sell the car I figure they must be hurting a lot. They said it should be coming in within the next couple of weeks and I am so excited to get it!
