  1. hmm.... wonder if this is my issue too... have never heard the wear tab squeal before...
  2. I haven't had to change the pads on the Fusion yet, but on my 04 cobra have tried several setups: I've tried PowerStop (evolution performance) ceramic pads... VERY low dust, not too good in initial bite for street use, definitely not enough bite for the track. I've tried EBC red stuff pads... low dust, good street pad, decent initial bite on the track, get greasy with extended heat periods (road course), these cracked and chunked on me in under 3 months. I've tried Galphar pads ... EXTREMELY dusty, decent bite, decent hold up under repeated heavy brake application. I've tried Hawk HP+ pads ... VERY dusty, AWESOME bite, NO discernable fade on the auto-cross... hard on rotors (but sure makes them shine) Currently running Hawk HPS as street pads... just bedded them last night, so far they show next to NO dust (even during the bedding process), bite-wise I'd say they are along the lines of the EBC reds. I definitely would not run these on the track though. Hope that helps a bit anyway. Rod
  3. 2008 Fusion S / 4 cyl / manual trans / 28,000 miles Have been experiencing a "squeal" while just driving down the road from the drivers side front. It is definitely somewhere in the brakes or suspension or bearings up there, but not sure what I should be looking for. The noise is NOT always there, starts around 40mph (and as I said, is NOT there every trip). It seems to be triggered by road vibration. If slightly turn steering wheel while the noise is occuring, the squeal gets louder. If step on brakes, the squeal stops. Going to be bringing it into the dealer shortly (still under warranty) just wondering what might be up or if there are any TSBs on the topic (I haven't been able to find any). Thanks! Rod
