  1. Hello! I have encountered a recent issue with my 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. I have just over 163,000 miles, and have almost no issues with the vehicle for the past 6 years of ownership. However, after replacing my front tires I started to notice a strange vacuum pump will activate when depressing the brake. I feel like this is a common vacuum pump to hear turning on, but I don't feel like it should be so often. My assumption was this was a vacuum leak, or perhaps a Brake booster pump, but I have not had any issues with my brakes, nor have I encountered any codes on my dashboard. I attempted to bring it to the dealership, but they are stating that the diagnosis and repair will cost over $1,100. I vehemently disagreed with their assessment considering the issue hasn't affected my car's performance outside of my fuel efficiency starting to subside as the vehicle is getting older. Does anyone have any idea to what could be causing the issue? I have made an assumption that this might have something to do with some speed sensors on my wheels being damaged as I do have a ding on my console when taking a sharp right turn, but I do not have any codes come up. I have taken it to multiple mechanics and repair shops with all of us scratching our heads. Any help is appreciated!! Thank you!
