  1. Drove both models before purchase. Deciding factors: 1) Extra 300lbs. I could notice it driving the FFE... felt slow and heavy. 2) Trunk Space. It was definitely a concern. 3) Cost. Calculate the ROI. I didn't mind kicking in the extra $$ but I plan to only keep this car 3 years so there was no significant payback IMO. Ford needs to come up with an EREV vehicle like the Volt / ELR. It is a more efficient hybrid design. I have a family member with a Volt and he hardly ever buys gas. Unfortunately the Volt is too small for my taste but I sure like the technology. Capt
  2. Howdy All, I purchased my new 2013 HyTi in March. After 7000 miles my happiness so far has been mixed. What I Like: - Ride Quality: Drives excellent. Excellent handling, smooth and solid. Add the comfy leather seats and its is a pleasure to ride. - Adapting Cruise & BLIS: I can't imagine owning another car without this. Use it all the time. - Collision Warning: Great feature in heavy traffic. Sometimes it gets confused when you try to pass a car going slower. Scares the %$#! out of me every time :-) - Styling is still excellent. No complaints! Meh!: - My Ford Touch. Even after the latest update, this system needs some work mostly in UI and slow touch controls. Navigation is marginal. It does hook up my devices easily though. Sound is excellent. Sirius information options are only half available in Vancouver, Canada. Traffic, movie, sports listings all work. But why not weather or fuel prices? Makes no sense. - Park Assist. Hardly use it and when I do parallel park I find it takes less time doing it myself. :-) Disappointments: - My fuel economy is no better after the PCM update. In fact its worse. Deviations between the in car computer and Fuelly are greater. My trip meter may say 5.7 L/100km but fuelly will report 6.1 L/100km. That's quite a difference. The weather is getting cooler, ICE stays on longer at the start and comes on more often so I do expect fuel economy to get slightly worse. But I was hoping the PCM update would show some improvement. So far still waiting. - Sensors: Parking sensors go off intermittently while stopped at traffic lights in Drive with foot on the brake. For no reason sometimes... no pedestrians, no cars moving around me... nothing! - Fit and Finish: A few annoying issues. The vertical A-Pillar exterior tabs keep popping out. Piano Black plastic bezels on the inside rear left and right door bow and pop out. These were fixed by the dealer. The big one is the trunk. The trunk is completely misaligned at the factory. I have had lots of troubles closing it. Visually the trunk is not aligned and when I showed my Ford dealer and his mechanic the problem, their comment was that is normal, no car is perfect. Excuse me?? I told them there is no way I am going to accept that. According to the dealer, the problem is that Ford did not design any adjustments to the trunk going back to the old crappy Taurus trunk design from years ago. So after some arguing they decided to take my Fusion into a body shop. They magically fixed some of the alignment problems but not all. The left side tail lights are still a good 1/8th inch off. At least the trunk closes better now :-) Clearly the dealer had no interest in trying to solve the problem but was forced to do it anyway. Very annoying. I am trying to decide whether I should try a different dealership or not. At $45k I just cannot accept such a problem that is visually obvious. Well that's it! I still think its the best car available for my commute and driving comfort. If the new 2014 Caddy ELR was $20k less I would be interested. Waiting for a mid-sized electric sedan that has Tesla Range for a "reasonable" price. Until I will still enjoy my HyTi and deal with the new body style teething pains! Capt
  3. I would go for the white one... I think it is the best looking color available in the Titanium. There is no point in replacing the tranny. Dealers can do the at their cost so hopefully it should take that much away from your trade. I wanted a platinum white HyTi and had to go with the silver due to availability. Chris
  4. Hello all from Vancouver Canada... Picked up my Silver HyTi on Friday... can't go wrong with 0% financing! A big change from my F150 so its going to take some time to get used to it. ;-) Wonderful to drive, cornering is exceptional. Great exterior, cool gadgets... love the adaptive cruise control. So far over 430 miles at 36 MPG and climbing with 40/60 city/highway. If it gets over 40 MPG I will be very happy. Getting a lot of attention from other drivers (for now). Chris
