B25Nut Wow - looks like a interesting project. Thanks for the reply. Craig

Thanks for the post as it provides a sense of what is to be. I'm at 14K miles today at 18 months. Lifetime mpg is 42.6. Although it will start down again as the temps here are artic now in Central Wisconsin. Changed the oil at 10K and that's it. Most of my miles are not highway so if your getting 42.5 at highway speeds that's great! What is your average outdoor temp if you know? Aviation interest here as well. Own a Piper Craig

Got mine via FedEx today. It did show VIN on the stub. Craig

MPG "tanking" in the cold weather - others?

Thanks hybrid bear. No engine block heater but I keep the garage warmer than outside. Probably a good idea to not have heat set to auto at the outset. Craig -
Ditto on the thanks Dave. I agree with Shanc. Cheap and noisy.

MPG "tanking" in the cold weather - others?
Craig replied to Craig's topic in Lounge - Fusion Hybrid Talk
Fos01 and GrySql: I leave my heat set to auto so that it warms up when it is ready. It was -11 here this morning. Thanks for the engineering answer! I wouldn't have a clue. Can I view oil temp too? Craig -
Bought my 2013 Fusion Hybrid in April so was heading into the warm weather. At the end of October the lifetime MPG was 43.7. Pretty nice after 7500 miles. Now it is dropping quickly in the cold weather- I live in Wisconsin. Just since November the lifetime average has dropped to 42. That's significant erosion in a very few miles. Is this to be expected? Others experience? Craig

Hey all thanks for the information on my original post. Completed my trip Friday. And here are the results. Used Eco cruise the entire trip. On the first half - 366 miles, it was raining and dead into the west wind - 37.7 mpg. Second half sunny and dry - 285 miles - 40.09 mg. total ave 38.9. I was pleased. Cruise was set to 66 mph consistently. In construction zones achieved some EV but not much.

acdii- what is your experience with cruise control- some have said this is your friend relative to mpg.

Thanks Neod192 and acdii! Appreciate the advice.

Getting ready for a long drive. Been practicing mixed city/highway. After 150 miles have 35.5 average mpg. Any advice for a ton of highway miles coming up? Craig
