Sounds pretty normal to me and I'm just a few miles south of you. Even with the heat on the engine will eventually shut off but the heat that's in the engine is being used to heat the cabin "cooling" down the engine. That's one of the programming updates they made way back to lower the temp threshold in order to allow the car to go into EV (like waiting @ a red light) much sooner especially in cold weather than before. There is at least on thread on this topic were hybridbear made some nice test.

Excellent question and the answer that will be telling. While driving around town the temps definitely stay around that first threshold mark only if you go faster for longer stretches it will get higher. That being said back in slower traffic the temp will drop down again. All that I can see on my drive to work and that is with my grill blocked and calling for heat at 68 F on fan low.

You are right about members coming here for ideas to improve on FE and while some of your advice is valuable I personally think you are overachieving for the majority of people reading it.

That little sticker is always the first thing I remove after an oil change at the Ford dealer. I recently had a puncture fixed on my wife's Explorer at an independent shop and had them do an oil change. I was presently surprised that they did not put the typical 5000 mile sticker in the upper left windshield corner.

+1 P.S. It's most likely for a distant future that will never come ;) -

Almost 3 years and still enjoying every second of it whenever I'm driving my 13' FFH. Lifetime MPG 44 displayed and 41.4 at the pump I couldn't be happier.

That I would like to understand not to start any arguments but just for curiosity. The hybrid is built to generate power / energy and has a powerful electric generator while a regular car only has an alternator that I would be more worried about. The 12V part is supplied by a DC/DC which doesn't have moving parts like the alternator. Maybe I totally off in my thinking but that's my logical explanation please correct me if I'm wrong.

Not a problem!! After your FFH is running the 12V battery as no more job to do everything else runs of the engine/HVB. Just make sure you use the charge point under the hood as described in the manual. Just for reference I gave my wife's Explorer a jump start a couple years ago without issues. Good luck

Has anyone else noticed that you can only have heated OR cooled seats?

Interesting how opinions differ :) We have to wait and see how the different trims will finally look like and be different from one another but I'm personally not a big fan of the chrome spoke across and into the rear lights. I'm pretty sure the new Sport trim will get a lot of attention and even more so if the gas prices keep falling.

Agreed only that odd looking edge over / around the fog light doesn't quite fit. Also the grill looks a little more round along the front edge than the current front end.
